Have any of you gone soft over the years? (Please, no Viagra jokes). LOL. What I mean is have you hated a particular figure or vehicle and then after time come to like it or at least accept it? I have found myself doing this more and more.
For example, I never like Sergeant Slaughter but have come to the point where I accept him as a Joe and even want to buy the figure. The same with Serpentor. I never liked the Swampfire, but then accepted it and now I have one and kind of like it. And now I find myself starting to want the H.A.V.O.C. which I have always thought was a ridicules vehicle. I feel as though I have been brainwashed into liking stuff that I know are dumb just because they are Joe’s. I have to say that there are still some things I will never like........or at least I think I won't. Has this happened to anyone else. |

Did you cry at the end of Toy Story 3?
As with a lot things, the more familiar you become with something the more you grow to accept it and possibly even grow to like it. (ex: '80s music, Harrison Ford's acting) |

For me it was Wraith and alot of the other characters that originated in the comics. When I first joined up here, all I was collecting was stuff from 82 to around 88. Then I started reading the "What Secrets Lurk in the Filecards" thread that Troynos and others got going. Since then I've really started warming up to the figures that came after the Sunbow cartoon from the comics and elsewhere. I took some time to wade through all the neon uniforms and ninja environmentalist stuff and found some real gems post Sunbow.

I used to hate Destro but I grew to accept that Scots can take time out from drinking long enough to sell arms.

Tastes change over time, I loved V1 Duke back in the day, now I think he is adverage, I hated Toxo-Zombie cause he was goofy and now I love him cause he is goofy.
I could write three books over my changing feelings of figures over the years. |

I don't think I've gone soft...I have however started buying stuff I previously considered to be on my lower wants tiers...for example I have the original Gung-Ho, and may releases since then even the 25th...the comic pack 25th Gung-Ho was a very low priority for me, but because of the 2ndary retail market (like TJ Maxx) mark downs I've grabbed him.
I've come to realize prioritizing what I want most is hard to do, basically I made a list of whatever I could possibly want no matter what the priority, and just keep my eye out for good deals or trades. |

Well I am glad to hear this happens to other people. The only figure that has dropped down a few pegs in my book is SE. Just the over use of him has soured me on him a bit. Still like him but not as much as I use too.

Hmm. Nope. Can't say I have Joe-wise. I still hate 90% of all GI Joe comics and 99% of all the damage Devil's Due did. Sadly, Joe comics have always been plagued with mediocrity.
My hate is still priapismic.
