I started this thread to hear your stories of Joes you loved as a kid, lost at some point, then finally got again at another point in your life. Just to start it off, I will give a couple of my own. There are way more than just these two, but this will start it out.
As a kid, I lost Timber from V2 Snake Eyes at Southern Park Mall in Boardman, Ohio probably about a week after I got him. Never forgot that....ever. Finally picked up another at a toy show within the last year. Finally put my V2 SE back to complete. Lost Recondo at Thomas Jefferson's home, Monticello. I replaced him on a trade a few months later. Lets hear your stories............. |

Aside from the ones we intentionally blew up I accidently left my brother's gung ho, repeater, bullhorn, snake eyes, budo, scarlet, law, and rampart in the driveway. My mom proceeded to drive the ford escort over them. After a severe beating from my brother I apologized. Since then I have reclaimed most of them but my brother isn't getting $^!#.

I buried my v2 Rock and Roll after "killing" him in combat. And then I forgot where. I dug holes every day trying to find him.
I never did. Thanks for bringing up such painful memories.

Does this count?
While playing at with my joes as a kid I lost track of the well-camoed Hit and Run - just couldn't find him to save my life. I literally found him about four years later still in position where I'd placed him in the Cedar Bush ready to ambush Cobra! He was a little discolored on one side from the sun but I still have him. |

Lets hear your stories............. I lost Snout Spout in my grandparent's house when I was a kid, but never found it. Actually, their house was a sort of a black hole for my toys. They had a ditch running across their front yard that was awesome for playing Joes when it rained. I lost a number of Joes that way. I figured I'd never find them after they decided to level the yard by dumping tons of red dirt and burying a proper drainage pipe. I bought the '89 Joker action figure at Hanes Mall when I was a kid and managed to lose it somewhere in the mall. I got to the car, realized I didn't have it, threw a fit, and my mother went back in and bought me a second one. That was the last time I was allowed to open a toy before I got home. EDIT: I forgot practically every Star Wars figure I owned. I can't recall specific stories, but I have them all now. |

My uncles would hide my joes and I would find them in my Grandma's kitchen. It was Joe hide and seek. I never lost any. My cousins did this and hid them all in one place in a farmer's field, and I lost most if not all of the '86 line. ugh.
Many of my joes were stolen when I would bring them to school. Including '85 Snake Eyes. Which I have reclaimed many times over, and now have about 4 or 5 complete and a bunch of parts to make a few more. |

When I was little I pushed a Battle Corps Mindbender in a hole in the wall. 14 years later we broke the wall down and I got him back. However I refused to lose my Countdowns and I have three now in my house.

I dropped Storm Shadow coming inside from a snow battle at my grandparets house. I found him in the spring when the snow melted I was lucky to be there when it started to melt I had visions of my grandma running him over with the riding mower.
I put my Jawa in a hole in a newly plowed field and when I went to get him out of his "cave" it all looked the same. I stayed with my Grandparets for a couple weeks while my family finished moving and Yoda was left under a raise floor in the basement. |
