Every Kmart I've ever been to is a dump. Love me some Little Caeser's though.

Generally speaking I have been surprised both times that I have walked into K-mart. In here they are the only place where I found anything aside from wave 1 Rise of Cobra Vehicles. They lower the joes to 1.88 the cheapest that I found in this area. They were the first place to stock up on the new wave of IM2 figures and were the first place to actually agressive push the Thor wave MU Figures to spear. They were also the first place to have the Trigon wave that I saw in stores.
The Electronics department looks like they tossed DVD's and CD's randomly allowing them to fall where they might and good luck if you need the guy in the department he is never around in order to aid in any way. The floors seem old and the male clothes are a small section and they often have nothing that sparks my interest. On the many trips I have went there I have walked away with one very cool Marvel shirt and one Smurf pj bottoms. Overall I don't rate it to harshly as the Female clothes sections and the Toys sections of my personal store is really good actually. Also there is no smell in the front but we also don't have little caesars. |

25 years ago, Kmart was probably the best place to get toys other than an actual toy store. Now they are way behind Walmart and Target, but I always find items there that I don't see at Target or WM. Stores could be cleaner (most are old, though). I do love their clearance on toys. Stuff may sit there forever, but if you wait long enough, you'll get it for 50% off of clearance price. I got a ton of ROC figs for $1 or $2. I also got alot of those brown exclusive Mars/Neo Viper/HD/Duke sets for $2.50 - for 4 figures! Those are all good army builders. I also find alot of stuff for my kids (boy 4, girl 2) on clearance. So I still like KMart, it has its place. But it is not on the same field as WM, Target, or TRU.

That sums it up for me. They have to be hemorrhaging money. OF the 2 stores I've been to in the last 5 years: one is ok, slow not dirty but looks like a store from the 1980s, the other is an absolute craphole.
Worst part: prices. More expensive than Walmart and Target. |

The Kmart near me is frozen in time. The time when they were about to close. Thanks Sears. It's so dead the parking lot has grass growing up through the asphalt. They are so cheap that the store doesn't even put all the lights on inside. I only go in to look for toys (Night Raven 11 bucks!). It's dirty. When I leave I go right home to take a shower. Last year I came out of an aisle and was hit in the eye by store keys being thrown from one employee to another. The store manager gave me a 50 dollar gift card. I could have sued, but looking around at the place 50 bucks is probably all I would have got anyway. I would have to say in comparison to other stores they suck. Heck, in comparison to a flea market on a dog's ass crack they suck.
