Hey Tankers,
I'm working on a web site for action figure collectors. It is essentially a way to keep track of your collections like Joes, Star Wars, etc. It has a lot of cool features I can't talk about yet as I'm in negotiations with a developer. =/ Anyways, the site will need pictures of sealed and possibly loose figures. They need to be pictures that are extremely clear and even. Even in terms of same lighting, same angle, excellent legibility. We don't have the means to do this at this time but I often see some great photos by Tankers here all the time and thought this could be a great option. The pictures would have to be released for use to us of course and there could be(and yes, should be) monetary compensation to be discussed. This is something that could really help out collectors. It's being developed by professional web and graphic designers and programmers with a lot of love for collecting. Anyways, any replies or suggestions are much appreciated. |

I went through this about a year ago...was going to build a collection tracking tool (figures, parts, etc) with checklists and Needs list generation...
Couple thoughts - contact the guys at YoJoe.com and see if they would be interested in working out something. Ridiculous amount of images and almost all of theirs are standardized. Also, Mark Bellomo who did the Ulitmate Guide to collecting GI Joe 1982-1994 Editions 1 and 2 has some ridiculous images of the rare hard to find stuff (the book is a damn good purchase if you don't already have it). Good luck man, hope it works out - keep the tank updated. |
