I didn't really see the appeal of the figure. I am not knocking those who really want one mind you, I just don't get it. Sure, exclusive yadda yadda yadda but ... I dunno. I guess as much as the Sarge is "part of" the Joe-verse, I don't consider him to be part of it. Just MHO.
Still, now I know there is a hole in the heart of my 25th collection.

For me it's an OCD thing. I have 1 of everything else from the 25th line, Everything now except 1 of each Sargent Slaughter. Can I afford Ebay prices? Yup. Do I relish spending $50 over cost a piece? no. Would I have been a little less perturbed had I a sliver of a chance to get them at $12.99? Maybe.
Still, now I know there is a hole in the heart of my 25th collection.

Surprised I was able to get Cap and Thor. By the time I got onto HTS around 11:30 AM, Galactus was gone.

By alientating so many of their fans, Hasbro did drop the ball, just like with the Stinger Jeeps...they dropped the ball. Plain and simple.

2 Days ago, we all loved Hasbro for the quality Resolute & POC offerings.
Now, they are evil and hated because they did not offer SDCC EXCLUSIVES on their site for public, non-attendee purchase. Think about that...how can we as consumers blame Hasbro, for not offering an item marketed as an event exclusive item, on their website? Forget about the other niche items such as Marvel or SW..the fact is these figures were SDCC exclusives and an incentive for attendees of that show. For the record, I wanted these exclusives just like most others did and did not attend SDCC. My only real gripe is putting them up as out of stock..they should have just left them off entirely. Hasbro has been amazing in giving us what we wanted with the property...it seems silly to blame them for something they really didn't do wrong with regard to this Slaughter situation. I'm telling anyone they are right or wrong for how they feel...just sharing my opinion. |

People laughed ,people cried and everyone missed him.Looks like BBTS or other e-tailers had faster computers than everyone here. They probably got the Galactus that was in my cart also.

I'm telling anyone they are right or wrong for how they feel...just sharing my opinion. Hasbro advertises Slaughter as: "A Hasbrotoyshop.com exclusive debuting at the 2010 San Diego Comic Con." Not "A San Diego Comic Con exclusive that might be available on Hasbrotoyshop.com after the show." There was a distinct and clear impression that Slaughter was supposed to be available in SOME quantity on HTS after the show, and ZERO implication that "Well, if you didn't get to SDCC you're just screwed and stuck with scalper prices." |
