I did mean the swords. I didn't mean any offense though.

Oh, it's not a problem, friend. No one took any offense.
We've talked about "Saber" before, but Marines just don't call their swords "sabers". However, that would be a great name for a Cavalry Soldier... and Army Cav Scouts (MOS 19D) are pretty cool.

USMC NCO swords are called just that - NCO swords. You're close to the mark, though, because they are modelled after the old US Calvalry swords.
USMC Officer swords are called Mameluke Swords. Mameluke has been talked about before, as a name for a Marine Officer. |

Unless I missed it, I did not see "Bulkhead" not to be confused with the Transformer of the same name.

Yeah, the idea of naming a character after a sword is pretty awesome. However, the sound of the name "Mameluke" just doesn't strike fear into the hearts of the enemy; it sounds more like a cuddly puppy than a "Devil Dog"... especially an Officer.
The name "Bulkhead" doesn't strike me as Marine Corps specific. It seems like it might be more appropriate for the Navy.
