Like the title says... In your opinion, what was the single best wave of G.I. Joe toys ever released? Why did you think so? Etc, etc...
For me it was ARAH wave 2. I loved the original 1982 characters, but to this day I can vividly recall standing in the toy section of Hills department store in Hamburg, NY, with my brother when we spotted Airborne, Gung-Ho, Torpedo, Tripwire, Doc, Snow Job, Destro and Major Bludd. Even the vehicle drivers were awesome - Ace, Cover Girl, Wild Bill, etc. Back in those days, we had no advance warning that new Joes were coming out, so you can imagine our overwhelming joy! I bought Airborne and my brother bought Gung-Ho. Airborne immediately replaced Flash as my favorite and he remained so until Leatherneck was released. I've had lots of favorite characters over the years, but in my humble opinion, there was no single wave more chock full of awesome figures than ARAH wave 2. So - what was your favorite wave? |

I have great memories of Wave 2 as well. Introduction of the swivel arm, I had to buy the first year Joes over again. It was a very good year.

I second, wave 2.
Colors were added. I collected the comic so when Issue 11 came out (home delivery) I had to go to Toys R Us the next day. BAM wave 2 in all its glory. 20 dollars later I had most all the figures and a Battle Bear. Went back every other week with my allowance and got the rest. Xmas saw the HQ and skystriker join my joes. was a great year.

'82-'85 seemed to up the ante every year.
But '84 takes the cake for me because it sported the best villain line up ever with Baroness, Firefly, Zartan, Storm Shadow, Scrap Iron, Wild Weasel and Copperhead.

This is really hard, but I'm going with Wave 6.
Fast-Draw, Outback, Big Boa, Croc-Master....Cobra La, Renegades, and Zanzibar....all of which bring nothing back but good memories! |

I said Wave 6 earlier and I'm sticking to it...but 84-85 was completely off the hook as well.
