Didn't care for the ROC stuff save for Flash and CS SE..oddly enough I think that ROC actually helped get my head back in it and dig deep within the ARAH stuff. If that makes any sense.
I'm not bored at all though, I'm super amped over POC--the stuff just looks solid. I'm catching up with the Classic Volumes. Last, and there will be a thread on this...O-Ring is like crack. I started buying up some classic vintage figures and have been having fun and super occupied with it. The restoration, buying, trading, etc etc...with the classic stuff it's not like I'm waiting for the next big thing, it's there already--really a hunt that never has to end. |

I'm not a fan (at all) of anything RoC, either. But in all honesty, if it wasn't for RoC, I probably wouldn't have got back into the Joe Universe. After watching that abomination and then seeing the crappy toys, well... it made me realize that I should really cherish the stuff that was good.
That's what's great about this hobby. There's tons of history and years of figures/stories/comics/cartoons/etc behind it. I watched RoC on DVD then immediately popped in Resolute (which I did enjoy). The other Saturday morning, I watched The MASS Device in it's completion again. I relished the cheesy awesomness of what was my favorite cartoon as a kid. Then I watched the G.I. Joe Movie (1987), remembering how horrible the Cobra-La story was, and it gave me perspective. RoC isn't the end of Joe, just a strange tangent that (like Sigma 6 or G.I. Joe Extreme) will probably find itself in the "alternate" category. While I still despise RoC for everything that it is. I do realize that it's because of it, that I got back into Joes. If anything, to keep true to what G.I. Joe is to me. That being the ARAH series. And now, instead of playing toy soldiers; I'm finding them online and at closeout stores, and at swap meets where I begin creating my own tangent universe based on the old.

I feel ya. I think PoC is really great stuff, but I'm not likely to pick up much of it. I was going to, but all I really want are the classics.
But Hasbro keeps putting out just enough classic-styled stuff to keep me strung along. The Lowlight alone will keep me interested for at least another year ...who am I kidding. I'll be knee-deep in PoC goodness before I know it.

Rise of crap was a big turn off for me. Movie sucked and the figs did as well.
POC is a little bit more interesting but I have grown tired of Snake Eyes V20 in his military PJs... Waiting for the Recondo, Jungle Vipers and other figs here and there that I'm just getting because of the acces ie piles of money. My friends share that feeling as well. We can't stand the idea of another Destro but those accs do look cool. To me is kind of stupid to kill such money cow and move on to the re-imagining of the line crap. Run the two lines along and make more money Hasblow.

It's all Joe to me, lol
The 25th, the ME, RoC and now PoC are all the same as far as I'm concerned. They all co-exist in my own little universe. O-Ring, I have about 90% of what I want. So I'm dying down on that. I'm only buying the figures I wanted but missed out on. I have no interest in troop building O-Ring, O-Ring customs or new O-Ring stuff, as the O-Ring is the past (as far as I'm concerned) and the ME style is the future that has renewed my interest in collecting.

A lot of people feel this way during the in-between times.
I am hoping the cartoon will be successful and they'll improve the content of the second film. This shit is sort of like a long-term relationship. You just have to let your commitment help you ride out the bumpy spots.

I'm not sure. I loved Resolute. But I'm kinda tired of this new direction Hasbro seems to be wanting to go with Joe. It's as if their trying to strip away everything that is truly military from Joe and make them some kind of undercover Black Ops organization. For me, I prefer more Spec Ops than Black Ops.
