I have tons of loose Joe figures (shown below) and 3 months ago I cleaned them all off one at time, which took 7 hours to do so (especially because I had to remove all accessories and then put them all back together) and it I no longer have the time nor motivation to clean them. Is there any easier way in dusting them off without having to remove them all from the shelves and washing them one at a time, while also cleaning the shelves themselves?

I cannot afford display cases right now. They cost a good $200+ for a ***** one. Plus there is no point in doing something like that for an apartment. If I had a house, yes, definitely, but not for an apartment.

That will work without damaging the figures? I was told a long time ago that using compressed air ruined the paint jobs.

Yes - compressed air, disinfecting wipes, damp towels, all will clean your figures. The best thing is to not outright play with the ones you store. Even if you opened action figures from the packaging, you can keep them clean/cleaner if you avoid hard playing, exposing them to elements, and other substances that will sully them.

I've tried displaying loose figures for a long time and I can tell you that until you get a display case of some kind for them your going to have a dusting nightmare with that many loose.
You can make a cheap one out of some real thin plexiglass form a cheap poster frame and a little wood. Not a great long term because it wont be the best, but will get you by.The more times you dust all of those the better this will sound. Another idea is to get a cheap book shelf and Velcro some thin plexiglass to the front of it or pick up some little hinges. These might not look the best" home made" but it will protect you figs and keep them clean. You can use a swifter duster if your careful on you bigger stuff. It will snag sometimes but after you try it you'll learn were you can get away with using it. Go slow. Hope my 2 cents help |

The only thing you could use there is one of those dusters on a stick that will be a nightmare too keep free of dust virtually impossuble that is what i use on my vehicles all my figures are in little bags so dont get dusty that is the problem displaying all those in the open you will never keep dust away fix the figures down with a littleblue tack then you can be a bit more forcefull with the duster. i keep other figures not gi joe in datho boxes with compartments there small and stack up dont know where you would get them or tackle boxes are good

use an old tooth brush and flat screen television cleaner. it has a chemical in it that detours dust from clinging to them. don't use wipes with alcohol anymore. it divides the petrol in the plastic and degrades the color
