Oh, there are a lot of Cobras that don't seem to have traditional military experience (though many of them have mercenary, terrorist, or paramilitary backgrounds that make up for it).

I know we have talked about this before, but I gotta get away from the Manly/BFF/Pee threads for a minute.
Who are we not clear on that may not have formally served for a U.S. or other military branch before being recruited to Joe or Cobra. This is what my feeling is--the Ninja Force guys, especially Nunchuk, T'jbang, Dojo. I don't think storyline ever has these guys serving. I've always assumed that they were hand picked by SS and THEN underwent training within G.I.Joe. Before that, they were martial art students, not soldiers. Croc-Master?--I don't think that nut has any military training whatsover besides what he gets out of daily life in Cobra. Big Boa, Raptor, Crystal Ball--See above. Dreadnoks--Ripper perhaps? The rest of them though? Budo--Again, I think this is where the filecards start leaning less towards "actual/factual military"--but a secondary as Infantry...I would think all Joes are Infantry no? Still doesn't make me think he served in a branch of the U.S. Military. Shockwave? I think Law and Order's filecard says he was a beat cop then joined the military. Shock's seems to have gone from Detroit S.W.A.T. straight to the Joe ranks. What about Cobra Commander himself? How did he learn the ins and outs of running the show? Any formal "pre-Cobra" training? You would think that most joes primary job was infantry but even looking at the us's own special forces many of the operators come from fields outside the infantry, psi ops, human explotaion and interigation, linguistics, counterintel etc so it is within the relm of possibilities that there are members that arenot trigger pullers by trade but rather gained it as a secondary skillset. Oh and im pretty sure Robo Joe wasnt military

Infantry = basic, for the most part. All Army go thru infantry training prior to moving on.

Who he is refering to is anyone who goes through the sign up process, Ap test, physical, BC, and gets assigned starts out as MoS infantry as primary. Meaning .. green shirt in a sort.
Think about it as for military training... You have several who are and or were military before joining the joes... IE. Hawk, Duke, Beachhead, Flint and Shipwreck Army and Navy. Granted Hawk climb to general, Duke being a 1st shirt, then you have a ranger then a spec. forces W01. then you have a CPO who is a gunny.
