There was a lot of serious ideas in here. Some may even have potential. Does it have to be a Joe squad? I am working on a sub-group to the dreadnoks called Dreadnok Death Squad. A group meaner and nastier than the noks. Mercenaries like the OG noks they work for the highest bidder.

hmm... So sky patrol had all chrome vehicles that would have blinded and crashed a pilot.. Night force had all black vehicles with blaze red / orange weapons you could see at night... Python patrol had bright yellow and neon green outfits that wouldn't blend into a san fran pride parade... Tiger force managed to outfit snow vehicles with yellow camo (still laugh at that)... Eco force had all gas powered jeeps with dual exhausts... Star brigade had.. Well. They were just laughable from the get-go... Ninja force had large lumbering neon vehicles with swinging hammers that even a fat man could dodge...
I think we need some future-istic vehicles, with a ton of modern weapons that maybe form some type of future battle station force thingie that is modular, and doesn't quite fit together but you find that out only after you buy all of them... Maybe we can make some really stupid characters for this force of battlers, and set them all in the future and expect them to hang with the rest of a post-vietnam tech era team.. What should we call this force of battle tech soldiers of the future? Maybe something like the year 2000, or something like that... only if we kill them off at a battle called benzene |

Really cool stuff there. Makes sense to have a group that shares a common focus. I love Tiger Force, but they are only a team in that they all dress funny. |

When I was a kid, I'd always separate my Joes into practical teams based upon their abilities. For example, my Recon Team normally consisted of Gung-Ho, Leatherneck, Tunnel Rat, and other guys who had MOS's based in Reconnaissance or were just generally sneaky. I had my own Recon Teams, Air Assault Teams, Armor Teams, Anti-armor Teams... you name it.
For the most part, I always found the Hasbro subteams to be especially LAME. Night Force was a great idea, but even they weren't nearly as cool as they COULD have been. The Cyber-Team is easily the best idea in this thread so far. Now I'm off to brainstorm a really cool (AND practical) subteam... Maybe since my military specialty was originally mortars, I'll do some kind of Fire Support Team - Short-Fuze, Downtown, Grand Slam, etc. Last edited by Sgt Humpty; 05-22-2010 at 03:08 AM.. |

Great work on the Naval Ops Unit!!! As for my own teams, I did like DNJ did. I just grouped like specialties to the "mission" I had. My reasoning was more that it didn't make much sense to me to have something like an infantryman flying something like the Skystriker. Or having somebody like Shipwreck (prior to the Joes making him a SEAL) on the ground like some rifle fodder. His job would be helping pilot the Whale or manning the the Devil Fish (or even piloting the SHARC.
