Besides maybe Sgt. Slaughter, Lifeline was the most annoying character in the Sunbow series. But Lifeline being a bad character doesn't prove that the show itself was bad. I personally think that those Sunbow cartoons had some great plots, characters and action sequences -- and most of all, a unique (ie - goofy) charm. I'd even argue that characters like Lifeline add to that charm . . . With all that said, Lifeline was REAAAALLY annoying . . .
"You know I won't touch a gun, Sci-Fi!" Of course he knows! You say it every other second!

Haha, thats so funny that you mentioned that. I watched that episode with Lifeline last night. I thought the same thing. But, Ive seen episodes of Tour of Duty with the same thing, privates refusing to fight. I thought that type of stuff was fiction, but I just watched a documentary that talked about a soldier who got the medal of honor who was a pacifist. So I guess he represented a small segment of the American military. He was/is kinda annoying though. I guess that is ironic that Kellogs Lifeline didnt have a gun huh? Ha.

Don't know anything about Kellogs Lifeline, I had the original and Tiger Force ones and they both had a handgun. So when some Cobra tries to stop him from doing his job he plugs 'em and he doesn't even feel remotely bad about it.

Yeah, they also changed his legs on the Kellogs one because he had something like a gun molded on his leg.

As much as I'm a fan of the character, the cartoon's portrayal was waaay over the top! I believe that it was a way to appease the PC crowd at the time. In my Joeverse, Lifeline uses a gun, either a pistol or a submachine gun, like the Uzi-type weapon the Pit Commando comes with.
