Joes were my favorite toys growing up as a child of the 80's, and I'm just now rediscovering them thanks to the 25th anniversary line.
Perusing this site I've been fascinated by the pics of some of your armies, especially when you guys have multiples in tens and twenties of some of the generic figs (vipers, troopers, etc). Growing up my brother and I were lucky to get ONE of any particular figure, so now I'd like to start buying used fig lots to flesh out my army. What do you guys suggest is an average price to pay for multi-fig lots? $3 per figure (what they averaged on the pegs back in the day)? Would you value 80s figs more than stuff put out in the last 5 years? Example: I found a lot for 30 Valor vs Venom and Spy Troops era figs, with about 15 classic 80s era figs mixed in. Anyone want to suggest what they think that's worth? I really appreciate your advice! I want to get back in the game but don't want to naively overspend. Thanks. |

Hey Jedi!
Well bud, with any line in question, it really depends what figures are included in the aforementioned lots. Without that key piece of data, any advice given with be a bit vague. Since Valor vs. Venom & Spy Troops are "recent", they aren't as expensive as original ARAH figures and not as "hot" as the 25th collection. That being said, there are some very expensive pieces in both lines. Also, you'll want to take in to consideration whether or not the figures include all of their weapons. If not, are the weapons that are missing hard to find? I would say that ARAH items are more costly than other lines, but their prices sure have dropped on eBay. Finally, I wouldn't pay too much for 25th troop builders. They're still pretty easy to come by. Welcome to the Tank! |
