Ah... no I'm not a huge history buff, but my brother is and I pick up bits and pieces. I find history interesting just like I find any good story interesting, But I don't pour over research unless something very specific catches my interest. If I read an alternate history or a historical piece of fiction I will research every name and location in it for example... What this as resulted in is me knowing a great deal of general history but but not a lot about specific areas of historical interest. Maybe I'll fill in some of that knowledge some day.

Plato knew about Cobra Island, but called it Atlantis.
Most south pacific islands are accursed, this is evident in their lack of indigenous serpents. Great story telling, really enjoyed it |

Very interesting start IS!
I look forward to reading more about this. The integration of the ideas behind Cobrala with something believable is very good. |

Thanks... it was really just train of thought writing. I like Serpentor and CC... how do I get them to share power? Oh what if they were leaders of two different aspects of the same culture? That kinda thing. That's what a lot of my writing is like especially that which builds on a pre-existing base.

It also allows you to play them off each other as each trys to "out do" the other and gain more standing in the overall society.

Wow, I'm gone for a couple of daya and come back to this? Really great start I_S! I have to echo everyone else on how well you integrated different aspects of Cobra into one society. Serpentor was always a character I liked independent of his role in Cobra (if that makes sense). You have made him (or the title) relevant and much cooler. Can't wait to read more!

Cobra's plot for world domination...
Cobra knows that they can not conquer the world through force of arm's alone, and while they have kept up with current technology (and surpassed it with their own ingenuity), they know that they must take the initial steps of their conquest slowly less they be destroyed by the massed forces of a superpower like the United States of America or the People's Republic of China. They are using political connections through two of their recent converts, Anastasia Decobray, a Baroness of mixed French-English background who has a hereditary peerage on the British house of Lords, and her lover James McCullen a Scottish Arms dealer and head of mars industries, to help destabilize political hotspots in the world. While this is going on the Cobra Caste engages in recruitment through various paramilitary organizations, martial arts clubs, academics societies and gangs that promote part or a whole of the teachings of Golabulous And use their spies to engage in acts of espionage. Finally the Coil, engages in direct warfare with the world... acting as a separate entity from the Island of the Cobra who denies any knowledge of their doings. (coming up next... known Cobra Front Organizations... including the Dreadnoks)

(okay Dreadnoks next time... first it's Cobra Kai)
To: General Clayton Abernathy (For Your Eyes Only) GI Joe Intelligence Agent Scarlett Field Report Location Los Angels California Re: Cobra-Kai Hawk; looks like you were right about the Cobra-kai chain of Martial Arts schools, definitely a Cobra operation. You think they'd change the name with the distance the Island trys to keep from the Organization but I guess the best place to hide is in plain sight. I assumed they were wannabes before I came to check this out. I went to the head school in California and enrolled myself in lessons, it was a a tough act convincing the Sensei, Kreese, that I was a novice with natural talent but I managed to pull it off. I got doused with all the rhetoric we usually see from street level recruitment operations. Kreese actually comes pretty close to quoting the Book of Golabulous verbatim. “Man confronts you, he is your enemy and the enemy deserves no mercy,” sound familiar? The other tenants they teach are the usual Coil Caste rhetoric. “Fear does not exist, Pain does not exist, Defeat does not Exist.” I'm actually not sure if Kreese is Cobra or Coil, either way he's a dangerous man. I think it's time to pull out, he's asked me to come in for a special ceremony at the Dojo next Sunday. I can't afford showing my face to a higher up Cobra or Coil Caste agent, or the chance that they might ask me to make my bones. Will await your orders. --Scarlett
