Are you more apt to base your GIJOE knowledge, experience and inspiration on the comic book or the cartoon series? I have always tended to favor the cartoons. But I have met so many people who have felt the comic books prevailed when there was a discrepancy in the two.

Comics over cartoons. The comics were more accurate to the filecards (which is the true base, IMO) and were realistic.
I never liked, even as a kid, that all the Joes could fly skystrikers or dragonflys or Skyhawks.

Comics all the way!
Hawk before Duke. Scarlett is with Snake-Eyes. Falcon is a bad-@$$ Green Beret. Shipwreck is a top-notch sailor. Bazooka isn't dumb. Only laser troopers use lasers. Only pilots can fly aircraft. Cobras NEVER eject.

Most personalities and voices I use are based off of the cartoon.

For me I prefer Cartoons:
1. for voices 2. personalities I prefer File cards for: 1. Backgrounds 2. Rank 3. Training 4. For characters like Bazooka. (I don't like the way Bazooka was retarded in the cartoon show) I prefer Comics for: 1. Destro (I don't like the ridiculous cult like stuff in from the castle destro cartoon episodes) My version is much more like the Comic book & ROC movie versions... I make up my own versions of: 1. Snake Eyes 2. Spirit 3. Zartan, & family 4. Tomax & Xamot 5. Storm Shadow 6. Airborne ...My versions don't have any psychic or supernatural powers. They're pretty much like the comic or cartoon version, just a little tweaked. Tankers are the best JOE fans!! Last edited by IronMan76; 02-23-2010 at 12:44 AM.. |

Definitely comics, I've never seen any of the cartoons other than the recent Resolute stuff and nor do I want to.

Comics for sure. I saw the first commercials air, bought the first toys and comics at about the same time...
The cartoon came along long after i had based everything in my little Joe-verse on comics and file cards... |
