The comics definately take #1 precedence. Hama wrote them (except half a dozen or so out of 155) and he also wrote the filecards for the figures. Now I like the cartoon, and can live with it as canon in its own way. Extensive Enterprises buildings, Lady Jaye's spear throwing, I even like cobra-la though I don't go for the "cobra commander is actually a super old different species chemist" bit. And Lt. Falcon is actually a very professional and capable character. And Scarlett is not involved with Duke, only Snake Eyes.

Comics over cartoons for me, though I don't follow it as canon.

Both. I don't see too much of a difference between the 2. |

I prefer the comics, but the cartoons also rock!

I was all over the cartoons! But I had my share of comics as well. It's a hard call but I think the toons had more of an impact on me than the comics.

Original filecards come first in coordination with the comic. The cartoon just adds voices, some personality traits.
You know, I didn't even know there was a comic until 1990. I'd watched the 'toon, but it was never the sort of thing that made me think "OK that's how G.I. Joe is." My brother and I had more fun just thinking stuff up ourselves. |

I favor the great Marvel Comics series, though I have a soft spot for the cartoon.
