My personal Joeverse becomes De-CLASSIFIED for the Tank to see. My goal is to create a GI Joe universe that has the ability to assimilate all of the various incarnations of GI Joe into one cohesive universe.

Cobra is the name associated with an idea that is so appealing it has been around since we first realized we had free will.

The idea is that the self is what is most important and should be put first at the expense of everything else.

As time progressed Cobra evolved from an idea into an organization. A shadowy one that secretly tries to control every aspect of life as we know it with one goal in mind; personal gain!

The Cobra Commander is the alpha dog of the Cobra organization. He is the most selfish, the most ruthless, the most cunning and clearly the most dangerous man in the world. In an organization comprised of individuals who are ultimately in it for themselves he is the one that is charismatic enough, smart enough, and deadly enough to get them all working for him, without them even knowing it!

Cobra, having it's roots in an idea, exists in many forms throughout time. Individual Cobra cells can operate independently from each other sometimes without even knowing they are connected and not always under the name of Cobra.

Cobra Commanders have always been around since the idea was first thought and haven't always called themselves such. The labels Cobra and Cobra Commander can be given and taken, they can be earned and independently adopted.

Notable Cobra Commanders include the former used car salesman depicted in the Marvel comic and Rex Lewis, the disgruntled ex- US army scientist destined to rise Cobra up in the near future.

GI Joe is the code name for a daring, highly trained, special mission force.

It was first formed in 1964 as a 4 man unit and was comprised of the best soldiers from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines.

After the Vietnam Conflict it was re-branded as the Adventure Team. During this period clues to the existence of a super secret shadowy force began to surface. That shadowy force would eventually reveal itself to be the terrorist group Cobra!

America would be ready for Cobra...

In the spirit of the original Joe team a new team of Joes had been assembled. Comprised of the 13 greatest American service men and woman of the time and armed with the latest in military technology they were more than ready to counter Cobra's terrorist threats.

Their codename; GI Joe: A Real American Hero!

As the threat of Cobra revealed itself to be greater and greater, the need's of the Joe team also increased. New technology, vehicles, and weapons were constantly being added as well as new rectuits, each the best in their respective fields.

Cobra-La is the codename for the oldest known Cobra cell.

It's Commander's name is Globulous, a super evil, super scientist that has taken genetic manipulation to the extreme; turning himself and many of his followers into abominations of nature. He has perfected the art of using plant cells to genetically alter the composition of animal DNA!

Upon hearing of the existence of a new Cobra cell with militaristic tendencies he plotted to take control of it with the hopes of using it to conquer the world where his scientific cell could not.

Globulous's first plan to rest control of Cobra from it's Commander was to replace him with a genetically engineered super soldier, an idea he implanted in the minds of 2 of Cobra's top scientists.

When that plan failed he tried implanting the idea that Cobra Commander himself was an agent of Cobra-La and then turned the Commander into a snake with genetically altered spores.

The implanted falsehood that the Cobra Commander was a centuries old member of an ancient organization of super scientists would quickly be forgotten shortly after Cobra-La was seemingly destroyed by the GI Joe team.

The entire Cobra-La debacle was subsequently labeled the result of mass a hallucination brought on by the spores found at their supposed location.

It has been theorized that the mass hallucination explanation may have been implanted by Globulous to conceal his continued existence.
