I've never heard of just a martial art making you a ninja. Ninja's are about killing people, stealth and martial arts. They aren't defined by one form of martial art over another. Martial artists only use their martial arts talents, they aren't necessarily stealthy or fatal.

It depends on your perspective. Are talking about 'real' ninjas, or the media sensationalized version of a ninja?

...And now I know!
Thanks for the info! But seriously, in your opinion it sounds like the difference betweena "Ninja" and someone who is has unarmed combat training and the stealth. ...Combined with the fighting style of Ninjitsu. Really in a way you might say that I Ninja is someone who is trained like a Commando. According to the Documentary on the History channel "Ninjas" used several techniques that were carefully designed to defeat the fighting tactics of the Samurai. It seems to show that Ninja's fighting style nuetralized that of the Samurai in almost every way. According to the loose definition of a "Ninja", you could argue that modern day Commandos are "Ninjas". Tankers are the best JOE fans!! (and smartest) : ) Last edited by IronMan76; 02-19-2010 at 09:28 PM.. |

Ha! in my old band we had a song I titled called "Onibi No Jutsu" -Art Of The Demon's Fire...a ninja technique, the employment of fire in combat.
I have some really cool old ninja books. Ninjutsu is a very fine line. What I mean by that is, if you google your town and Tae-Kwon-Do or Brazillian Jiu Jitsu about 30 places are gonna come up...type in Ninjutsu and its probably gonna be a very small group of guys. Not that it isnt cool, but if you want to learn martial arts and get a good work out...Ninjutsu isnt that. Its a serious thing, I would say less then half of the schools saying they teach it actually do. Though I am sure many advanced classes that teach weapons will be teaching stuff that Ninjas used, or somewhere down the line was intertwined in the Ninjutsu bloodline. A Ninja..a REAL Ninja is an assasin, thats what it means thats what it does. Cobra Commander didnt hire a personal bodyguard who was a Mixed Martial Artist, a Karate Champion, A Kickboxer or a Submission Wrestler....he used Storm Shadow. Because he is a "real" Ninja.....well minus all the Joe comic book stuff, but for the most part..yeah I think they got it right with him. |

Well if you define a Ninja as someone with unarmed martial arts combat training, and the skills of stealth and assasination. Then Scarlet would be a Ninja.
Scarlet is trained in several sneaky ways of killing. Sub Machine guns, throwing stars, Garotte, knives, unarmed combat and Sniper rifles! The Garotte, Crossbow, and Sniper Rifle are some of the stealthiest ways of killing sombody! They kill without a trace...you never knew they were there.

If you sneak up on somebody and strangle them with a Garotte in a taxi cab at night... That could be hard to trace... Crossbows kill silently without a trace.... Silenced pistols and sub machine guns kill with alot of stealth too. Tankers are thed Best JOE Fans! and smartest Last edited by IronMan76; 02-19-2010 at 09:48 PM.. |
