I am unfamiliar with the red shadows storyline. I went to yojoe and found Red Laser and Red Jackyl, but no older versions of this years con. exclusives. I was mainly into the toy line, not the comics. Are these figures from the comics? are they a part of Cobra? Please help.

They are Europe's version of Cobra.
There is an American story with them in Devil's Due's Joeverse. |

For most Americans, the Red Shadows are a mystery. They showed up in the DDP comics, but without a lot of explanation. Their origin was in the UK Action Comics, where the Red Shadows were the main bad guys. (You can read more about them on the web site "Blood for the Baron".) Their leader - in the UK comics - sold out the Red Shadows and took on the mantle of "Cobra Commander". Their second in command tracked him down and went from being the Jackal to being Destro. But the Red Shadow leadership survived, so many Action Force comics had Cobra fighting the Red Shadows as well as "Action Force".

I think this might help you understand the Red Shadow backstory.
