This is what it's all truly about.... when did we start getting into this? Any pics of us getting Joes at Xmas in the 80s, this is where to post. (if there is already a thread like this, moderator please relocate this)
Christmas, 1986. I vaguely remember this. Apparently I didn't even open it for over a year, and even then, it sat in a drawer unused almost 100% of the time. I never grew to appreciate/OBSESS over this certain Cobra supersonic bomber until I was well into my teens... |

I think my 1st ARAH items were the Mamba and Tomahawk. Did not realize how awesome they were until I got older. The Mamba is very unique, I was GLAD to see it appear in the IDW books. I hope we can see it in the future, it looked VERY realistic at the time, and still looks so now.
Both that and the Phantom X-19 would not look out of place in the Pursuit of Cobra line. |

My dad was ex Air Force and a huge sci-fi buff, so when JOE came out in 82, he was all over it. My very first was straight arm Flash. At the time he worked in a building that was across the street from a TRU, so every few days he'd bring me home a JOE or 2. (Vehicles were reserved for holidays and special times)

In the beginning God created the heavens & the Earth..........oh......... .......well for me it started in '82. The MMS was love at first site. But my mother didn't want me playing with army toys. But for my birthday one of my friends got me Snake Eyes & Short Fuze. Eventually I got the MMS & started collecting all of them. Then in '88 it all suddenly stopped when I got a girlfriend & started raising hell in high school. I don't remember a damed thing after '88. Just recently I started buying up all the stuff that came out after '88 that I missed the 1st time around. Last edited by Steelgrave; 02-16-2010 at 05:43 AM.. |

Awesome pic!
My Night Raven was heavily used, one of my favs as a kid! Sadly I don't remember my first Joe, but one of my favorite Joe memories was digging under the boardwalk in Ocean City and finding the smaller jet from the Night Raven w/ Strato-Viper inside!!! Boy was I excited!!! I already had a Night Raven at home but this was still a sweet score! |

First toy was Breaker.
I remember getting the Aircraft Carrier on Christmas day and then taking the money I got for Christmas and buying a Sky Striker on the 26th for 15 dollars. It was on clearance at one of the local stores we had. |

My first figure was a 1983 Short Fuze as a birthday present. My collecting has definitely picked up as an adult (too many other toy interests back in the day) but I've always loved G.I. Joe.

My first G.I.Joe ever was Cobra Invasor (ARGEN7) and it was followed by Cheetah (Stalker), Topson (ARGEN7) and Cobra (Cobra: The Enemy). My first vehicle was the Cobra FANG.
This picture is from my 6th Birthday Party and I'm the one holding Topson.
