Just read the USA Today article about GI Joe: Cobra and loved the new Crystal Ball look.
Of course, I know Stephen King was involved with the creation with Crystal Ball but puzzled by this fact... Someone reposted it on Facebook, "Crystal Ball is also the only Joe figure ever to figure into the plot of a Stephen King novel." Crystal Ball was in a King novel? 'G.I. Joe: Cobra' brings on the bad guys - USATODAY.com |

A quick google search reveals that Crystal Ball made a cameo (as a toy) at the end of The Tommyknockers. I read that book when I was younger, I guess I must have forgotten about that part.

I never finished the Tommyknockers.
King is hit or miss with me. If he hits, I love it. If he misses, I can't even finish the book.

I haven't read anything he's written in the past decade, though (except for the non-fiction instructional book/memoir On Writing). But now that he's off the coke, booze, and pot, I think his later stuff might not be as imaginative and engaging as his earlier work |

I read King's books, and I remember there being a part in one of his stories that mentioned both Snake Eyes and Crystal Ball...can't remember which story it was though.

Generally, I like his short fiction better than his novels. The short story/novella collections Skeleton Crew, Nightmares and Dreamscapes, and Hearts in Atlantis remain some of my favourite "pop fiction" to this day. The only King novels I really enjoyed from cover to cover were The Eyes of the Dragon and maybe The Talisman (which he co-wrote with Peter Straub).
I haven't read anything he's written in the past decade, though (except for the non-fiction instructional book/memoir On Writing). But now that he's off the coke, booze, and pot, I think his later stuff might not be as imaginative and engaging as his earlier work I'm just the opposite. For the most parts I can't stand his short fiction. Cell was a good one. I have Under the Dome, reading Bill Willingham's Peter and Max and then will read Under the Dome.

I like Stephen King Sleepwalkers (or really just Madgen Amick) and Maximum Overdrive (green goblin truck). He did Pet Semetary as well too right? I liked those as well
They should make GI Joe gunslinger figures designed by Jae Lee
