Anyone knows the true meaning of the clan logo? I did some researched and came up with this.
Is it based on trigrams from chinese language? I found this on wikipedia. I Ching - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Just couldn't find the right combination that sums up the Arashikage symbol. And by mixing the ones on this picture. It states that it's Water and Fire. I'm just very curious about the creation of the symbol, does anyone here know the true meaning? |

its basicly balance having water over fire or fire over water its all about the evenese of power, much like the ying yang.but back in futal japan the symbols were used for descions on war trades and any important issues of the time

Its a hexagram, not a trigram. It is borrowed from the I Ching. Is there a literal meaning? Ask Larry Hama.

"I got to the end of ARAH #21 and got the idea to use the matching hexagrams bit. I didn't even really know what the connection was between the two characters at the time. But that was the first link. Hexagram 65 of the I Ching (chi chi,) is called "After Completion." It connotes the instability of perfection because the trigram K'an (water) strives to move downwards, while the trigram Li (fire) pushes upwards. I actually chose that hexagram because the symmetry made it easier to remember, but the meaning turned out to be synchronistically apt. Jung would have been amused." - Larry Hama
Arashikage I-Ching Hexagrams I ching and the Arashikage symbol Arashikage Ninja Clan Symbol Arashikage Family Dojo The Arashikage Clan Someone else in the Joe mythos also used an I-Ching hexagram. On Professor Onihashi's gate (the Arashikage swordsmith) there is a different hexagram than the Arashikage hexagram. This can be seen in issue 84 of the Marvel series when Zartan tries to gain access to the Arashikage clan. The hexagram (I-Ching #27, K'un k'un, The Corners of the Mouth) symbolizes 'nourishment'. DDP didn't notice the difference (Snake-Eyes Declassified #4). |

i seem to remember Scarlett and Billy, maybe Jinx too? talking about it in a Marvel issue, something like full members of the clan are the unbroken lines and apprentices are the short ones....

You know it's funny....I've lived in Japan for over a decade and I never see anything from the I-ching. I'm fairly sure that's a Chinese thing.
About a year ago I actually saw some I-Ching symbols on a tent and I stopped and took a picture just cause it was so weird to actually see it in real life. I have no idea what they mean. |

He basically chose that particular hexagram for stylistic reasons, then retconned the meaning lol. But hey, it works!
