Was that released in a two-pack? I'd totally buy the NOT cannon/FLAK cannon two pack. And was there a Sigma 6 CC origin? (I know someone asked this but I didn't see an answer.) I go with a murky version of the comic origins in my joeverse.

I don't like the comic origin (and Joe comics in general most of the time). It is extremely cheesy. Even more cheesy in comparison to the cartoon because the cartoon has an excuse; it's a cartoon.
I knew most of the old-school comic canon but went and read CC's wikipedia page anyway. It seems okay until the part where CC's vet brother is killed in a car collision with Snake Eyes's family in which SE is the only survivor (talk about lame shoehorn story telling). Then for some reason the used car salesman is so enraged that the other soldier (SE) lived and hires a mercenary to follow and kill him in Japan where he's training to be a ninja. All the while this used car salesman is amassing the most powerful terrorist organization the world has ever known. It just gets dumber and dumber after that. It's like it's written by a eight-year old trying to write a mature story. I like my own origin for CC. And it does involve Cobra-La. Flame shield to maximum.

As said before you get to pick which one you like best.
Personally I like the comic one up to a point. I like that he's a failed businessman who decided to raise an army of the people that feel they have been left behind by the American Dream (not Dusty Rhodes) it feels very real. I'm not to thrilled about the rest of CC's origin the whole his drunk brother killed SE's family seems a bit of a stretch but I can live with it...where it gets to be too much for me is the Jerwa series where CC and a despondant and unknowing SE go on a campaign of terror. Its a good story but its just too damn much origin info...I have the same problem with the whole Hardmaster saga were led to believe SS killed him but we are also told later on that he was chasing the true killer which is fine at that point its good story. Its then revealed as Zartan again good story sometime later Zartan even though he did it, its pawned off that Firefly was the man behind Zartan...starting to become unbelievable, and finally we find out CC hired FF who subcontracted Zartan and it all got blamed on SS. Baroness's origin in the comics has a similar problem...I mean we were all fine with her being a spoiled aristocrat who got bored and turned to terrorism but for some reason we had to loop her into Snake Eyes during his Vietnam era where it looked like he killed her brother and that's what set her off on this path. All this massive backstory gets weighty especially when you continue to tie EVERYTHING back to Snake Eyes at some point. Don't any other Joes have any back story? I think this is why I liked G.I. Joe Declassifed so much...we got to learn things about the other Joes. I mean essentailly Grunt, Breaker, Stalker, Steeler, Hawk, Grand Slam and Short Fuse had no backstory at all (I leave Clutch and Rock n Roll out because ocaasionally we saw some of their backstory). So I have my own little story line. I borrow what I like from different Joe sources and the rest is my own, including Cobra Commander's origin. Ex-CIA agent who spied on potential terrorists and corrupt officials of governments from around the world. His disguise was a multimillionare investor who usually did his job by mingling and conversing with the right people at invitation only black tie social events. This is where he first met people like the Crimson Twins, the Baroness, and James McCullen. From there the story pretty much writes itself.
