You know what guys don't buy all this modern stufff and expect a great profit. Everything since 2002 - DTC is pretty much worthless righ now.
The best things are still vintage, 25th annie, and surprise some sigma six. The other stuff is just crap. I've been okay at my store front for about four months now...the valor vs. venom stuff is just junk. |

Every Aldi's in town had Nano and Kamakura, until somebody realized they were htf. Serious, within days, the whole inventory vanished. The rest of the wave was still at every store...

This subject has always fascinated me and made me think about committing myself to it or to a mental institution.

I started seriously collecting in 1995 (as an adult). I started making it a business in 1996 doing cons. I had my first retail store "Heroes for Sale" 1998-2000 I went online exclusively from 2000-2004 I had my second retail store "Classic Toys and games" 2004-2008 doing it exclusively online since then. It has also inspired me to create disPLAYability CTGLinks archive and a couple of secret projects I can't discuss yet. To be honest, as far as my collection, I build most of my vintage collections by purchasing lots to sell and pulling out what I need, So I make a paycheck and the toys are a bonus for me. I am proud to say that I have one of the largest toy and game collections in my area : - )

If a guy is "making a living" selling just gi joes, chances are he's also living in his parents' basement.

My way of saying you can't make a decent living selling just GI Joe toys. I have no issues with people selling them. Hell, I don't have a problem with scalpers either.

I actually think re-sellers ruin it for everyone, unless you have an account with Hasbro and they send you toys directly, I think it should be illegal to buy from a local chain and resell. I wish the IRS hung around and watched who was re-selling and not reporting there earning properly, bet there are a bunch of them.
