Would it be a cool idea for Hasbro to hold a contest like
"have your original custom joe or cobra made into a real figure" basically, if you win the custom contest, and youre original joe, or cobra character is chosen, it will be made into a real figure as part of the gi joe action figure line yes or no? |

Didn't they do that before? I don't know if they ever made the figure though. I think Sgt Airborne won with his Ripcord Custom.
But yeah awesome idea.

They did something similar a few years back, with Red Zone:
A real-life GI Joe - more or less - Online Action Figure Entertainment's MySpace Blog | I think it'd be cool to choose parts to Build Your Own, so you dont have to look for fodder. A checklist with different heads, chests, weapons, etc. to choose from. Hell, they could even just send to parts you want straight from the molds and let US put them together! It'd cut down on price since there's no assembly and it's factory direct--I bet many people would like that. There's my 2 cents....

I would love for them to have a custom contest of any kind that ADULTS could enter. Every time they do something like that its for kids only.

Yes because it would raise the bar on a lot of the designers they have.

eh, i voted no. I think they should bring back the Steel Brigade, but allow you to choose from various parts to make your own franken SB figure, perhaps through a web utility. You go in, choose your head from a list that are compatible with the ROC SB helmet. Then you choose from torsos, then arms, then legs, then gear...all with pictures (maybe like the hero maker graphic utilities) then once everything is chosen, you pick your MOS/SMOS from dropdowns, give him a codename and print it out. The print out would have the Steel Brigade order form data for you to fill out and a barcode which would allow HASBRO to scan it and the barcode would load your part choices into a computer, assemble and go! Boom! Then 4-6 weeks later you have your own custom SB figure with custom FC or maybe even packaging!
This way everyone can be a winner with a good custom SB instead of just one person being a winner with a really great custom. Just my 2cents |
