Well with the new film in the works & all.
It dawned on me that there is a flaw with the character backgrounds on the 25th Anniv figures. A lot of them have served in Nam & also Warsaw pact weapon trained. Now the Nam issue, any soldier still serving who saw service in Nam is going to be pretty old now. Also since the Warsaw pact went the way of the dodo in the 90s. That too needs to be amended to "International Weapons". I think the characters could be Desert Storm 90/91 seasoned troops, with plenty of action in Bosnia,Iraq,A`stan,Panama,Somalia, etc etc. Just something to bring the character backgrounds into the 21st Century. After all look at Rambo in his new film. Now yea there could be one or two seasoned men like him in the Joes, though most really need tweeking to be updated. So what do ya think? |

the same has happened with marvel comics' punisher character. in the comics he was introduced as a vietnam vet. in the films though, to bring it into a more modern setting, its gulf war. im not sure how, or even if, for that matter, the comics have ret-conned the chronology of the punisher.
you what else has ruined time settings of movies? (especially horror movies) cell phones. to prevent protagonists in movies from just using their phones to get help the movie either has to be set before the mobile era...or its a "no service" situation. the "no service" cell phone has joined the infamous plot device ranks along with the "non-starting when you really need it vehicle" in horror movies! |

I'm not sure what military background they're gonna have, they mostly look to be in their 20's and the movie is set 10 years into the future so the closest war they might be a part of is the current one, and they'll have just enlisted since they would be around 18 or younger right now |
