well said sir
i agree with ya on the dramatic property Quote:
^^^This is the formula here.^^^
GIJOE has infinite potential as a dramatic property, in my humble opinion. I strongly believe in its potential to equal and even outdo some of the most well-written TV series ever. However, the quality of any interpretation will be dependent upon those who adapt it.

There's no reason a live-action GI Joe show couldn't be good, but given that about 90% of what's on TV is utter crap, the odds are that it wouldn't. You never know though.
There aren't too many military-style shows on these days either. I suppose if you have the right mix of 24-style terrorism/action you could sell it, but I suspect neither the network execs or the general public is ready for a GI Joe television show the way we would like to see it. Who knows, though? The SW show might open a lot of doors for fun action/adventure type stuff like this.

If they could hire on a good writing staff and a few good actors it might make it.

With shows like 24, The Unit, Jericho, Kings and Lost they can do just about anything. So it really depends on how they do it..... would it be really expensive to give GI JOE real millitary tech.? yeah kinda....Could they go the way of making GI JOE more of a branch like the FBI or CIA....thus having the ability to leave out hardcore tech. (ie, Tanks, Jets, etc.) Very Plausible!!!!!
But again it would require a different spin on GI JOE and that will send the fan boys in a frenzy. |

I picture it suffering from the same thing the "Terminator: Sarah Conner Cronicles" did.
With a live action show and an existing live action movie series, the show may turn out to have no real plot development for fear of conflicting with the movie cannon. |

They would probably mess it up worse than ROC... like make all the Joes teenagers or something and stick it on the CW network. *shivers* Or worse we would be stuck with more conversation scenes between Ripcord and Scarlett. Scary.

I rather have Hasbro/Paramount release a straight to DVD cartoon like Resolute (not kiddified) every 4-6 months. Why not? DC & Marvel have been doing it for the past 2-3 years.
