As sci-fi as cannon allows.
I'm not possessed of the desire to re-imagine any of it. I think this sort of stuff goes hand in hand with the guys who actually sit and play with their Joes....and I'm just not of that ilk (a little jealous of it, mind). I'm just in it for little plastic trophies. If Hasbro released it, I'll accept it. I'm not in the driver's seat, only along for the ride.

I like this. By the way when I first saw the thread title I thought it was asking how do you use the character Sci-Fi in your Joeverse. But I'm also not one to create my own Joeverse. Being A fan of both the comics and the cartoon this probaly doesn't make scince because they have their own continuity. But the Duke , Scarlett and Snake Eyes relationship thing was never an issue for me because my first Scarlett was then one from the Ninja Force line. And by the time that Scarlett came out I hadn't watched the Sunbow cartoon in a few year and was mainly into the comics.

I suppose for me I want to include all those figures I have in the 1:18th scale. So now with Marvel Universe on top of Star Wars it makes for a nice mix, of very futuristic and sci-fi. I also have a Great Hulk figure I include in my Joeverse. My problem is where to put him. Since I don't have a Bruce banner figure I don't know which side to put him on. For now he's a Cobra experiment.
If you include Star Wars or Marvel or Transformers then you have to tone down their abilities. I think Captain America is fine since he is only slightly better than average, compared to a Magneto. Then Iron Man suit should be able to fly, but not Supersonic, nor should the blasters be able to take out tanks. Jeeps sure. In my verse there is a small contingent of Clones that has escaped to Earth with the Emperor's body and are hiding in the Jungles of the Amazon. What happened to the Star Wars Universe I haven't decided, but I only collect Clone Troopers in Phase 2 body armor, and figures that may fit in with them. Strangely there is a team of Jedi's loyal to the Emperor. A few Star Wars monsters as well who serve to scare off the locals. These guys can't rebuild for some reason, but are impossible to destroy. Cobra finds out, the Red Shadows finds out, as well as the Destro clan, which includes Magneto and Dr. Doom. (They are all related) When The joes find out, it's an all out blitz to get a hold of some of this tech. From which we get Serpentor (Clones); BATS (Droids); Iron Man Suit; Various Propulsion methods (So Gas is no longer needed); And yes Lasers. But that being said, Clone Trooper armor is still susceptible to bullets. and Magneto is more of a Extreme Metalsmith than a Master of metal. So as far as superheros go, all their abilities are turned way down. One problem is to pick sides, since some characters just seem more bad than good. Any of the good ones all work for SHEILD. So going down that list. SHIELD agents: Col Nick Fury Punisher Black Spiderman head on a Snake Eyes body Commissioner Gordan Tony Stark and the Ironman Suit. (His work is viewed as ultra important to the US, and he as much command of the Joes as Colton) Union Jack Captain America Cyclops Hulk Buster figures finally I use Endor Battle Han Solo as Deputy Director Jack Ryan as my only Star Wars Joe Character. Cobras or agents of Destro, or Red Shadow. Wolverine X-force costume is basically a replacement for RazorClaw Sabretooth(Movie Version) They are Brothers but only Logan got the Surgery. Ronin (Ninja) Black Panther (Ninja) Iron-Fist (Ninja) DareDevil (Red Ninja) Red Hand Ninja (Tien Sien?) The dude that takes over the Red Ninja Clan Deadpool (Basically another Firefly) Bullseye (Merc) Red Skull is the actual leader of the Red Shadows. Problem Characters which are subject to change: Ms Marvel (I have her as a Destro Scientist) Guardian (Merc with a Iron-man suit like the Wraith character) Iron Man Stealth ops (Cobra Version of the Suit) |

Only if its acceptably part of our modern world, bullets should be the most widely use ammo, lasers suck. if you want robots, laser s,super heros and monsters stay away from the dogface joeverse
even broncos colored urban alley vipers are going a little too far
