I'm buying some fo the RoC stuff because I actually enjoyed the movie and I love the way the modern figures are put together and detailed. As opposed to the Transformers Movie figures, RoC figures actually feel like they could live in the same universe as their classic counterparts. I'm buying mostly blue-camo Joes, though, to build my 'urban commando' unit. It's kind of fun if you think in squads...something I'd never done before with GIJoe before the RoC line since much of the classic Joes tended to border on "random colorful military dress". I know alot of the criticism leveled at RoC has been the "uniformity" that seemingly drained away some of the character quirks...but I find the change refreshing, in a way.

Originally, it was all about the nostalgia for me. I bought a 25th anniversary storm shadow V1 because he was always my favorite growing up. I told myself that was all I was going to get. Pretty soon, I found myself surrounded by the entire 25th line. Now, I am a believer that everyone needs a hobby. When I found Hisstank and saw the amount of like minded people (at least as far as this one thing is concerned) I somehow felt like it was okay to embrace this inner child. Now it is part of who I am. Everyone who knows me knows that I am a grown man who "plays with toys". I am okay with that.

Nostalgia was never really a big reason got the 25th/ME.
Didn't have the "wow, it's like my childhood all over again" feel to it for me, was more of a "wow, it's some sweet updates to the stuff I liked as a kid". Now it's because I like hunting for new things on the shelves, the figures are pretty damn cool, they fit into my Joeverse, etc..

While nostalgia was what brought me in to the 25th, enjoyment of the evolution of Joe has kept me. Resolute rocked! While I have not seen the movie I have all but 2 of the single carded figures. Looking forward to the DVD releases of both.
I have found it interesting that I draw lines -I say I am only buying 5 figs from this line. But then as I check stores and see little to no new product, and with the sales, I pick up some here and there. Lo and behold, I have all but 2 of them. I still cannot justify pulling the trigger on the new vehicles, despite having most of the 25th ones. I think at this point it is a hobby I enjoy and an escape from real life. My 4 year old enjoys them too and is always excited to get out Dad's GI Joes for an evening of play!

I'll buy any action figures that I find really aesthetically interesting.
