Wow, your first visit to the US and you are looking for the best place to shop for toys/collectibles? Well, I would recommend Philly for one reason only, it is pretty central between the mid-atlantic and the northeast. For the love of Pete, please do not stay in Philly a minute longer than you have to. You will go back hating the US.
My suggestion would be to try to experience some of the US while you are here as well. Land in Philly and immediately rent a car (make sure you can drive it on the right side ) and drive up to NYC and see the sights there for a couple days, hitting all the toy shops (check w/ your HT buddies to locate them) and department stores you like along the way. Then head down the coast through New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland until you reach Washington, DC and take in the sights there for a couple more days. If you have time left, hit up some of the historic sights in Philly before you fly out. Just don't talk to any of the locals. |

Seattle is pretty cool, speaking from experience:
you've got Seahawks/Mariners/Sounders/huskies fottball and basketball depending on the time of year, the Pike Place Market, the Space Needle, a great Zoo, Mt. Rainier, hiking/Skiing & Snowboarding, a jaunt on the Farries can take you lots of cool places, Canada (Vancouver/Victoria) and Portland are 3 hours or so away by rental car or train (or Ferry to Canada), lots of bookstores, the coast, tons of parks, quick access to lots of great Rural areas... it all depends on what you want to do... and ups to your girlfriend for being a 'hawks fan!!! (too bad about the injuries this year and last)

On topic... wherever you end up, check the phone book for flea markets. The ones I've been to always seem to have Joe fom the date range you indicated. |

What the hell?! As a native Philadelphian, I'd be offended. That is, if it wasn't, well, kind of true.

Hey guys, im not sure if this is the correct thread for this but here goes. Im going to be travelling to the States next year for the first time ever in a search for Joe collectables but i have no idea where to look. Im after the usual stuff like figures and vehicles and, if possible, some of the classic stuff from the 80's and 90's too
