I think you're right, Hound x VAMP would've been spot on.

IMO Beachcomber should have been the A.W.E. Striker and Warpath needs to be the MOBAT while Optimus can be the APC.

Scaling is off but they would be closer matched. Regardless, I'm not a toy engineer and what they've released is pretty darn cool.

yeah i definitely agree that bumblebee should not have been an awestriker. if anything he could have been a badger - because it's closer to yellow or a tiger force awe striker. the green and yellow does not look good on him.

kind of miffed that optimus is going to be a mobat; which i am sick of that vehicle. i'd prefer he'd be a rolling thunder or the ROCC

The crossovers are just soooo cool! My son (age 6), who liked transformers, and joes to some degree, absolutely LOVES these crossovers. It has gotten him more into joes. That and the cartoon has really opened the world of Joe to him. I display mine (2 each), one in robot mode and one in vehicle mode.

I am open to the idea in theory, but I've never seen it executed in such a way that I really got on board. In some ways it is tough to execute through a modern lens because Joes are rooted in the real world military setting (putting aside Cobra La, Serpentor, etc.), while the Transformers are alien robots that look like cars and planes. But I'm sure a really talented writer could figure it out.

I like the Joe figures TREMENDOUSLY. Have no use for the Transformer.

I wish Hasbro would just run a full line of 45 o-ring classics, as singles, for $9.99 a hit. Almost all of the design, packaging and engineering are solved, and they own the license. A good mix of the Greatest Hits from 82-90s.

One of the fun things would be more vehicle drivers on cards, as they did with Zartan and Ace.

You have to set aside a lot to think G.I. Joe is rooted in the real world military. The very first run of toys in 1982 had both a Laser Trooper and a "Heavy Artillery Laser" cannon. By 1984, a ninja and a guy whose skin turns blue in sunlight became two of the most popular characters in the franchise.

By 1986, we got a genetic clone of all the great leaders of history who dresses in a snake costume, and fans loved him.

G.I. Joe has always been fantasy with military set-dressing.

Personally I see light science fiction such as unrealistic weapons, anachronisms like a ninja terrorist, or even, say, a wacky mutation affecting Zartan's reaction to color are easier to accept than ancient alien robots, but YMMV. As I posted earlier, I do think Serpentor is a bridge too far. It can work in the cartoon (which was always over the top starting with the MASS device), but again, if you want contemporary sensibilities where you try to make GI Joe fairly realistic than it's hard to thread the needle with something like the Transformers.
