I love the fun and pulpy action adventure of GI Joe, but interspersing it with deep reflective moments, Hama was great at doing that.

But returning to the cartoon...gotta say, just about any shot from the 1987 Movie intro is freakin' iconic, in my mind. So unfortunate, that it was basically the last gasp, for Sunbow GI Joe.

Absolutely. I'll add to this. These two dudes and images represent to me the pure classic GI Joe, all-purpose action adventure soldiers, timeless but also rooted in history.

I always loved the fact that most of the Joe team are either seen in the intro or in the scene at the end when they are all evacuating.

I really shouldn't do this, but I have got to ask, what's memorable or iconic about this panel? Did it set something up? Is it supposed to be a dramatic and captivating piece of art? Is it supposed to convey the intensity of the situation? What's going on here?
