He pre-dated ninja force, so I'd be more curious to know who the sai was intended for at that stage. Ice Knives make sense, maybe for climbing and maneuverability, but I feel the only way this conversation will ever truly be settled is for the Ice-Viper to come to Classified.

A sai with Range Viper makes sense as he's expected to live off the land and scrounge for his own ammo, etc., so a stealth weapon works. he can use it for climbing, killing, hold it over a fire to cook on, etc.

I like both ideas, especially for Jinx (who kinda favors Elektra). Range Vipers eat campfire s'mores, don't they?

Range-Viper's knife is more sensible than him having a multi-shot grenade launcher and a rocket launcher and no small arms weapon.

I love a backpack as much as the next guy, but why did Shockwave have a big "rucksack" and a big-ass Rambo knife? He's a SWAT entry guy lol. I'd have given him a short-barreled shotgun that can attach to his back.

Also, I'm not buying the Range Viper weapon is a sai, it's just a stylized knife. The commercials never showed multiples of figures, and most kids only ever had one of each, so unlike the TV/Comic, the play pattern was usually you had a group of specialists on both sides fighting each other. To me, that single-figure play pattern reinforced by the marketing is the most unique thing about the toy universe.
