The need to make a 1980s Marvel Comic sub-series (drop Tiger Force, Night Force and Python Patrol). They could do a series of two-packs:
- Cobra Island Serpentor - Cobra Island Zartan - Billy with android leg and eyepatch - Cobra Commander in disguise - Soft Master - Hard Master - Dr. Venom - Kwinn - October Guard - White Clown - Bongo the Balloon Bear - Professor Appel |

My wallet is very happy that my collection outgrew my available space around 2009. I pushed through Rise of Cobra, then made exceptions for first or notable versions of characters sticking to 1:18 scale. Super 7 got more money from me that I would expected for its Joe line, but they did roll out new figures (Blind Woodsman, Cobra Space Shock Trooper).
I've been gifted several Classified Series figures and picked just one (Baroness, had to) on my own. Once Hasbro decided to upgrade the traditional designs instead of doing unwanted overhauls, the line has become a wonderful thing. It makes me happy that many of you are embracing it and happier still that Hasbro's catering to middle aged nerds like us. But... wow. Anyone going completist on these is dropping some money. |

I am getting more selective as I go along. Especially now that I have a sizeable collection.
I don’t army build (how do people afford that shit?). I actually go mostly for Cobras as I think they are generally cooler. Still hoping for some deep cuts (UK Action Force, Oktober Guard, etc ) There isn’t that much left from main line that I am interested in. With vehicles, I am restricting myself to bikes and planes. Also, got the Stinger. Will get FANG if it comes out. HISS and Dragonfly were easy passes (though I would have liked the figures from DF). Fortunately, I am not a completionist and won’t be picking up all the figures. |

I have way too much stuff in my house at this point. I ended up backing two Rattlers since my son also wanted one and I have NO IDEA where they will go in our house. Sometimes I wonder if I need to just start boxing things up and storing them away for when I get a bigger house someday but that will not be anytime in the near future.
I think I have a lot of non-toy stuff in my house that I could part with. Plus I still have a TON of toddler-age toys and my kids are about to be 10 and 12. I'm kind of relieved that only my oldest son collects like I do.

Lots of good thoughts here.
I like the idea of rotating the displays to freshen them up and not have everything on display that would work. My biggest enemy is FOMO! Once something launches or lots of talk about it, I decide that I must have it. I am getting better telling myself save your money for o-ring and where do I see this fitting into my head cannon. I am sure I will always try and get the classic figures in the classified range as those are pillars of my childhood. Also they enhance the comics that are now being published in volumes especially the Battle Action Force ones as they are my childhood. The thing I find amazing is everyone now has a toy room/collection room/office. Call them what you will but isn't it great that we now choose to display rather than just have them in boxes as an embarrassing nerd secret. |

I?ve only known in the flesh 7 people back in Ohio that collected like I do and didn?t care what people thought , if I had a nickel for every woman I brought to my place after my divorce that said what in the hell is all of this I would have @ least 40 nickels , I never cared most of them were one night stands my real friends gave me have a about it but what did they spend their money on that was so much better liquor beer sports stuff gambling drugs .. The only time I really was singled out was by my ex wife and a few relatives that happened to see that episode of dr Phil when it was all about collectors or in that day adult nerds with toys and why they shouldn?t collect and they were worthless and not going to be worth anything in the future boy was he wrong , my dad got me into collecting stuff early on whatever I was into , I do agree though having a Room with just my stuff in it is priceless .. I?m 51 now and have very few complaints in life anymore ..

It's like there's ZERO personality to the place. |

One thing that keeps my display manageable - I never have more than ONE VERSION of a character on display. It's a common sense rule to me. A person can't be in two places at once.
So, Retro Snake Eyes is currently my Snake Eyes. The others are stored away. Retro Cobra Commander, Retro Storm Shadow, Retro Stalker are all the defaults for me right now. Main line color schemes are always the version I display. No matter how cool a Night Force, Marauders, or Tiger Force version is - it can never kick off the mainline color scheme. Cobra Island Firefly got replaced by newer Firefly when he was released. When Gold Headed Destro comes to the line, Silver Headed Destro will be retired. The one exception might be Battle Armor Cobra Commander. In my mind, he HAS to come with a Fred VII head underneath - so he will be a different character. I'll be able to keep two Cobra Commanders on display at the same time. |
