no, because I took the 'nameless, faceless legions' part pretty seriously. Not that I thought they literally had no names or faces, just that they didn't get a codename. Plus, I didn't have many Cobras as a kid - two blue shirts, a CG and then CC, Serps, Tomax and Xamot, Wild Weasel and the Rattler and that was it.
Back in 2010, I was planning to do a work-place sitcom of dios with my expanded Cobra roster, and they all got a first name, no more. |

I always thought Night Creeper should have been a single character like Firefly, that contracts with Cobra. He's too cool to waste on "faceless hordes" that get chopped up easily by Snake Eyes. Cobra had no real ninja at that point, and the Ninja Viper didn't get a "real" release until the 25th line.

Interesting topic. I never gave my troopers names. The Cobra Officers and Crimson Guards I always referred to by their ranks; Lieutenant, Captain, etc.. My grunts I always referred to by letter and number designations much like Stormtroopers in Star Wars. Cobra Troopers were always CT-01, CT-02; etc. by their squads.

My Cobras never had a strict ranking system like other modern militaries. For instance, no E-3 or Sergeant versus Master Sergeant or 2nd Lieutenant. There was just Troopers and a Cobra Officer, then above that, a senior Cobra leader like Major Bludd or Baroness.

Younger no.
Since I've been doing the dio-story. Mainly numbers. and under extreme stress etc... they might belt out a fellow Cobra troops name before their demise.

Didn’t army build as a kid but usually had one of every trooper type during the years I was active. They were always nameless. I didn’t really humanize them in any way, probably to allow my imagination to allow horrific things to happen to them without having to deal with bigger questions. Even now, I don’t think of those figures as having personalities unless I swap the head for an unmasked one.
