It would not be a big deal to make a 3d printable back seat that goes in the Plasma Series Ecto that this new one is reused from, and pull out the rear-facing jump seat. It could even be modeled to have seat belts.
Just my two cents.

I am excited for these figures as I love anything o-ring but not too keen on the Ecto1 if it does not fit all the figures. Cannot see why they would not design it for the figures really makes no sense

In fact here's a review showing that you can fit 4 vintage Joes inside of the Afterlife release of this Ecto 1: They might now fit well enough for a marketer to say that they will (because if it's a tight fit all of y'all would be complaining that she said they could) but it seems like you can make it work.

Total speculation here, I think someone at Hasbro who likes O-ring figures had the same idea as the above video of using 3.75" figures with Ecto-1 and decided to make prototype Ghostbusters figures.
A lot of companies encourage "passion projects" or employees will use the equipment to explore so to speak. I'm thinking someone made these for fun and an executive or decision-maker saw them and was like "Whoa, you made these?", saw they were already designed, low development cost and decided to run with it. |

I've cut so many foot wells out of vehicles to fit Joes into in the past that I'll figure out some way to get all 4 in there lol.
As someone else said I really hope they release a Firehouse in this scale. You could use it with so many 3.75 inch toylines like most of us did with the original 5 inch one. MU Spider-man could climb up the side, Spinmaster Batman could perch on the roof, the Joe's could Hangout inside with Barbecue like in The Viper is Coming. |

I know some customizers and other have used playmobil vehicles for 3.75 Joe

I'm not sure. Most of my Joe's are 25th/ME Joes, same with the MU and Batman stuff I own. Most items Hasbro made for 3.75 scale works for the 4 inch side of toy scale. I do use a lot of Playmobile items for diorama props as Joes of both scales can use them no problem. Playmobile's vehicle and playsets are usually be too small in height for 4 inch to fit in. Playmobiles average figures are 2.9 inches tall so its usually cramped for 3.75s and almost impossible to get a 4 inch into a playmobile vehicle or playset that has a roof on it. That set does look like its worth picking up just for all the accessories though, even if Hasbro were to make a firehouse I don't see them including most of that stuff.

These look great. I think I might have to set aside $45 for them.

i have the playmobil firehouse and ecto, they're still in the package. but i do have the real ghostbusters playmobil ray set with the flying motorcycle and the egon set with the forklift thing open to use with my cyberpunk/space themed o-ring ghostbusters.
playmobil's definitely not in scale for o-ring figures. if you want something in scale your best bet is getting the vintage hq. for my extra one i made an actual second floor to it rather than that weird l shaped thing it originally had going on. |
