Assuming the live-action film would have been made between 1983-1993
Keith David as Stalker David Patrick Kelly as Barbecue Michael Biehn as Duke Tom Selleck as Leatherneck Jesse Ventura as Gung-Ho Robert Urich as Flint Roger E. Mosley as Roadblock Andrew Stevens as Psyche-Out Clarence Gilyard Jr as Doc Holt McCallany as Destro Daniel Hugh-Kelly as Wet-Suit Adam Baldwin as Grunt Val Kilmer as Chuckles Harrison Ford as General Hawk David Keith as Crazylegs Julius Carry as Iceberg Feel like Kurt Russell would need to be in this, but not sure which character. Maybe Beach Head? Alterntive: Tiny Zeus Lister, who was two years younger than Keith David, 6'5" and had more muscle mass than Bubba Smith. He also shaved his head on the regular, which I think one would have been hard pressed to convince either Mosley or Smith to do. |

Roger E Mosley and Keith David were the same height at 6' 2", and Mosley was older by about 18 years. Keith David would have always been perfect for Stalker, even when he was in his early 30s while shooting platoon. But if we're gonna go older for Roadblock, let's make sure we go bigger and maybe don't go too much older. Bubba Smith wasn't as good an actor as Mosley, but he wasn't exactly bad, he was seven years younger, and he was was 6'7" and built like... well...like a guy who'd get the nickname "Roadblock." I think he would have been better for the role.

Lister certainly was bigger and probably closer to what RB would be from a purely phyaical stature standpoint, but not sure he could pull off playing a super charismatic and likeable guy like RB should be. I think Mosely had the most likeable personality of those three actors. Smith seemed a little wooden or aloof too, so may not have fit the role from that standpoint. I think Mosely was big enough to pull it off and since he was a body builder/lifted weights he had the muscles to do it. Mosely shaved his head not too long after Magnum ended, so I think he would have. It's just hair though, it grows right back lol I guess it depends on what you are looking at when casting a role. Definitely a fun but really challenging task! lol

I don't think I realized Mosely was already 50 when Magnum PI ended! I think he looked 10 yrs younger than he actually was. Bubba Smith was taller ans younger than Mosely, but I think years of playing in the NFL took a toll on him and he looked older than Mosely and closer to 50.

Michael Clarke Duncan would have been a great Roadblock or Heavy Duty. Dude was a tank and he was in his 20s/early 30s in the 80s.

Tom Hanks could be a great Grunt. He has that common man look, and did you ever see Saving Private Ryan?

How about Bill Nunn from New Jack City, Do the Right Thing, Sister Act, and Regarding Henry? Just as good an actor as Mosley, charismatic and likeable as fuck when the role called for it, and while not as tall as Smith or as jacked as Lister, he was about as bulky as Roger Mosley and Keith David during the time period but also two inches taller at 6'4." And of course he could have put on even more muscle with a trainer. Bill was also just three years older than Keith. He had gray in his hair in Regarding Henry but not in New Jack City that same year, so I'm 99% sure that wasn't real. Plus, he could have shaved it off.
MCD definitely would have made a perfect Roadblock, but I don't think his first role was until 1995 though.
