those that legitly love the joes besides snake eyes because i feel he has to much plot armor compared to every joe that ever existed, i know idw killed some joes off early if my memory is correct, but those that love the lore and what not who do you feel would a make it in the real life military and any special forces that they was in 2 and who do you feel is honestly the most well fleshed out and written

Storm Shadow, from the Hamaverse. Great character.

i sometimes like the characters best where they do the things and then he writes the stories or when they have a plot where it happens and what is the best are the ones who can make things like what my memory remembers sometimes the characters are best at that

I always enjoyed the focus that Stalker's character got in the comic. Outside of the Arashikage clan-related characters, he was one of the better developed personalities.
Non-character-specific, but the Borovian gulag story arc always stood out as peak GI Joe storytelling to me. |

He wasn't the most fleshed out and well written, but Recondo would make it in real life military.

For me it's Stalker and Zartan.
I think with Stalker it is interesting because the little we know of his personal life is mostly trivial. There's just nothing in his history which matters much, unlike the ninja characters. Stalker was a less-than-exemplary man who was only thinking of himself when he was young. Then, he had a change of conscience and a personality shift and became one of the most selfless men on the GiJoe team and his strong personality is evident almost every time he is on stage. Stalker just IS the man he is on the GiJoe team. He has no baggage attached to his wayward youth. He changed his mind and became a real American hero. Zartan has a similar character arc, but much messier. He had a confusing youth and experience as a young adult in the world. He went down many dark paths. He was thinking only of himself as well. Then, when confronted with Onihashi's path, he changed his mind just like Stalker did. But, it didn't stick. Zartan is a mess. He's constantly hitting emotional bottom and realizing that he has been less-than the man he was created to be. Then he turns his life around and starts thinking of others once again. Eventually he loses interest or becomes vengeful and the cycle begins again. As for the second question, who would make it in real life military... Lt. Falcon, Stalker, Leatherneck, Beachhead, Claymore.

I really liked the tragic Rip Cord & Candy story. Having Zartan and the Dreadnoks involved in that story was genius. Rip Cord, dressed as Zartan, says about Buzzer "He took my Candy! He took my Candy!" and then Ripper's line, "Here now! What's he babbling on about his chocolates for?"
I also loved Dusty in the "13 is bad luck" issues: Special Missions 13 (death of Mangler), and ARAH 113 (first "death" of Sneak Peek). There were several well-written characters with far-too-little page time. I like Clutch, Roadblock, and several of those second-tier characters. |
