Sneak Peek is based on Stephen King's son.Owen King. Tunnel Rat was based on Larry Hama's likeness. Scoop was created in honor of now-retired NBC journalist Mike Leonard. Nicknamed Scoop.Law was sculpted to be*Kirk Bozigian, a Hasbro executive.

Repost from the other topic it was asked in:
For 3.75 they made a lot of Joes where names and/or likenesses were used: The Fridge Sgt Slaughter Roddy Piper Tunnel Rat (Larry Hama) Sneak Peak (Owen King) Scoop (NBC reporter Mike Leonard) Iron Bear (Derryl DePriest) Dragonsky (Brandon Jerwa) Dusty (Ron Rudat) Rampage (Walter McDaniel) Big Brawler (Brian Mulholland) It was common for likenesses to be used of employees, friends, and family as well by the sculptors, not all are documented. For 12 Inch they made a lot of real people: Audie Murphy Teddy Roosevelt Buzz Aldrin John Glenn John F. Kennedy Ulysses S. Grant Colin Powell Douglas MacArthur Buffalo Soldier John R. Fox Roy Benavidez George Washington Mitchell Paige Jimmy Doolittle Dwight Eisenhower Francis S. Currey George Patton Robert Crippen Bob Hope Ted Williams Charlie Bury |

Liar. It is well documented that the Steel Brigade pilot Wolverine was me. I have the file card to prove it.
Kidding aside, were not Checkpoint, Rook, and Red Zone based on G.I. Joe fans, one of whom won some photo contest? Sightline was named after Gary. |

Rudat's name was used for Dusty's real name (Ronald Tadur), and his likeness was used for Leatherneck.
Sounds like some kind of Cobra misinformation campaign.

The heads for Heavy Metal (design director Greg Berndston), Frostbite (senior design director Todd Wise), Thrasher (senior design director David Kunitz), Ghostrider (product manager Jeff Jones), Lift-Ticket (product manager John Lindsay), Cross-Country (senior product designer Guy Cassaday), Road Pig (senior design director Don DeLuca, who also was RP's file name) and Slip-Stream (senior design director Steven Reiss) were all based on real Hasbro employees too. Half joking, but also half serious, this is why whenever I see people make comments on here about those heads I try to make this fact known.
Also, Keel-Haul's head was based on Clark Gable and Wild Bill's was Robert Redford.

Duke's code name was a nod to John Wayne
Cover Girl's design was originally inspired by Sigourney Weaver

IIRC, There's also a newer character released during the RAHC that was based on a Hasbro employee- Sideswipe maybe?
Edit: Nope, Sidetrack: https://www.yojoe.com/action/02/sidetrack2.shtml
