Yellow's my favourite colour, which is why Airtight was one of my favourite Joes as a kid. But even I think this is bonkers.

Maybe less of a conspiracy than you think, when you consider the following:
Using the statistics listed on this Half the Battle site for DIC cartoon screen time, these Joe characters exceeded those yellow pants Joes. If you click on each individual character, you can find the DIC screen time seconds recorded for each character. Hawk 2,623 seconds Pathfinder 2,410 seconds Ambush 1,919 seconds Duke 1,780 seconds Sgt Slaughter 1,624 seconds Flint 1,469 seconds even Low-Light was close at 1,228 seconds of DIC screen time.

When you break it down by year, Scoop was on top for 1989 (Operation Dragonfire); Grid-Iron narrowly lost to Pathfinder for screen time in DIC Season 1 (1990), but he beat Pathfinder in total word count, so I gave them a draw; Grunt had the most screen time in Season 2 (1991) for any of the Joes in the standard line-- only Hawk and Duke (based on '92 figures) and Eco-Flint (from a '91 sub-team) beat him out. So Scoop, Grid-Iron, and Grunt were the top standard-line Joes for their respective years. And when you consider that each one is the first Joe listed on the cardbacks for their respective years (Grunt for the second wave of '91), it all starts to look pretty intentional. |

Aw man, I miss that show! By the way, how long have you a moderator Brett? Is this new or have I not been paying attention?
