Revenue decline is not loss.
Say it with me: REVENUE IS NOT PROFIT. I'm not going to get into the rest of what you said because I had to spell that out. Before you go inferring that people don't know what they're talking about and make a different kind of uninformed remark, maybe you should check yourself before you wreck yourself. I wish you could like posts. The RealCharade is a joke . Enjoy G or rather B ( As he is Beta and no G) checking him. Don?t take his opinion serious. He literally speaks out of his ass,

I was at my local Ollies today - and it is overflowing with Star Wars and Marvel. Tons and tons and tons of stuff. Stuff I've never seen. Dozens of characters that I've never seen or heard of. They are so deep into the D-listers at this point that it makes it almost impossible to get excited about them.

As a larger business, Hasbro is struggling with its stock price:
"HAS stock has underperformed the broader market in each of the last 3 years. Returns for the stock were 9% in 2021, -40% in 2022, and -18% in 2023 (YTD). In comparison, returns for the S&P 500 have been 27% in 2021, -19% in 2022, and 23% in 2023 (YTD) – indicating that HAS underperformed the S&P in 2021, 2022, and 2023" https://www.trefis.com/stock/has/art...%202023%20(YTD). Granted, all toy companies are facing chalenges right now. Mattel is the outlier being slightly up because, despite falling toy sales, investors are high on the Barbie movie franchise and the upcoming American Girl movie franchise. I'm not sure how much market moves impact the production line, but make of that what you will. |

Said it before but I'll say it again:
Hasbro is a publicly-traded company. That means if they were planning to fundamentally change their entire business model, they are legally obligated to let shareholders know about it. So until you hear them say "We're getting out of the toy (manufacturing) business" in one of those shareholder calls or a press release, it ain't happening. I would add the "We want to become an IP Company" was Brian Goldner's thing, and it failed badly enough that they reversed course REAL fast when Goldner died. Also selling off your relatively brand-new entertainment division (eOne) if you want to "become an IP Company" is really not the way to go about that process, especially followed up with laying off several of the folks that would actually be involved in licensing the brand(s).
