I would much rather see Marauder get the license, but I don't know if MJ would even want that headache.

Yes, I wrote it too in the Classified thread a couple days ago and Im predicting Mcfarlane will do classified in a couple of years. Hasbro dont want to be in the toys buisness anymore. They will license their IP's.They start closing factories, the writing is on the wall.
Now imagine that, by a cruel twist of fate, Bobby V gets the license lollllllllll Hiss Tank exploses! |

Super 7 had picked-up the license for MOTU Classics at one point. It's possible they could do the same for Classified.

Not to mention they break when you look at them.

Video streaming services were also performing at unsustainable rates just a few years ago. In 20 years board games will be as relevant to modern consumers as wooden dolls are today.

If Jazzwares distribution hadn't gone to crap over the last year I would have liked them to get the Joe license. 4" Fortnite and Halo already fit in nicely on the Joe shelves. They have great sculpts, great vehicles, and can somehow keep their licensed figures around $11.

Here's the one problem with licensing - cost. If GI Joe gets licensed, you can bet that the $$ would go up on individual items to make a profit. Sadly, at $25 a pop it's already a barrier to entry for most - and it certainly isn't going to have a kid following - so that means over time, the market for the product will shrink. As Darrell Waltrip would say, this approach is good for "a short term gain, long term loss".

What about a NECA Classified series? The articulation would be similar to McFarlane, unfortunately, but the paint apps and construction would be better, and the accessories would be more plentiful. And the price would be higher, of course. But would you guys be ok paying 35-40 dollars for a Classified figure, that was as well sculpted, painted, and accessorized as NECA figures tend to be?

Highly unlikely as the plastic and fit and finish mcfarlane now uses is in each of his lines, but If mcfarlane used a different fit and finish for the GI joe line with the detail sculpts of the old stuff, itd be legit. His old stuff was meant to pose and not be played with. The new stuff are more action figures with poa, it?s just the finished product on some are not that great. I’d 100% pay more Money for a true collector piece. Someone said if different companies/ concept artists / could buy rights to specify figures or years. I’d truly love to see that level of imagination. As for Hasbro: It’s cool we are getting some throwback vibes from classfied but there is absolutely nothing unique about any of them. They just blew up 3 3/4 in a larger scale. Which is fine, but no updates. No uniqueness, no expanded lore. It’s just a double down on Ron Rudats and the OGs imagination. I’d like to see Hasbro let their designers loose, and see what New, modernized, versions they come up with. Even name it “what if” or some shit so you don’t hurt peoples who don’t want changes in Joes feelings.
