Yes but that deluxe Tripwire wasn't an old fashioned Tripwire. They updated him to have modern bomb disposal armor. It's so clunky you could even give him a lmg or the rams gatling gun and he cam act as a sort of juggernaut for the joes. That's what I meant about giving us updates. If he was some shirtless karate dude then the best thing they could do is stick him in a retro box and call it a day. Also while most have been positive about Tripwire update I can tell you that his sales aren't as good as the non deluxe figures. (I log the pulse site sales). It's all about price. That's why there are pics of tons of scrap irons in target. Everyone likes the updated scrap iron but Noone cares about the blast effects and higher price. I like quick kick too but I don't think a deluxe one would do that well.

I'd say no, two different things. Hand-to-hand combat is a very general and basic term, while martial arts is a specifical style of fighting and that can sometimes use or mostly be comprised of hand-to-hand combat techniques.

martial arts literally means arts used by the military. Boxing is a martial art. Martial arts is not just Karate, Kung Fu, Judo, Ju-Jitsu, Tae Kwan Do and so on. Savate, Bartitsu, fencing and so on are martial arts too. Krav Maga is a martial art. Any hand-to-hand combat system is martial arts.

How do you "lean into" Quick Kick?
1 - INTERCHANGEABLE FEET. Make him a hot figure to purchase for generalized toy fans. Quick Kick can have toes in various positions, holding weapons, and potentially tip-toed stances. 2 - Armor and layers. Quick Kick can be bare-chested but have removable armor and layers if desirable. 3 - Weapons load-out. We have seen an abundance of silent weapons in Classified, so Quick Kick's should be very specifically chosen for him. Boxing mitts and sparring pads. Variety of nunchuk weapons. 4 - And call me crazy but he should have Saw-Viper's hog. 5 - Silent killer. Quick Kick should have a garrote, small blades, and be portrayed as a quiet assassin. He's not going to clear a room, he's going to sneak in behind a target and be utilized like a close-combat version of Low Light. 6 - Batman him up a little bit with a kite glider, a crow animal companion with interchangeable wings, roller blade interchangeable feet, long hair or short hair, and foldeable weapons which can store in his backpacks. Small backpack and large, duffel bag. You can't demean him and try to be his advocate at the same time. I get it, you don't like Quick Kick. That's fine, every figure isn't for every collector. You can pass on buying him and save your $40. But Quick Kick is infinitely more popular than Tripwire.

Quick kick cool in sunbow but a half naked martial artist doesn?t make sense. They could give him more of a modern ninja uniform and if done right would be pretty cool. To me the only good ninjas are storm shadow, jinx, red ninjas. and quick kick. Not a fan of ninja force. To me v1 snake eyes is the shizzle. |
