Split right down the middle
Nice to see everyone’s takes on him. As iconic as v1 still is, v2 is just as memorable.

I actually never had any Storm Shadows as a kid but I picked 84 because that's the closest look to how I remember him the most from the cartoon. I prefer him to be Cobra and want the look with the sigil to reflect that.
My best friend/neighbor at the time ended up getting the 91 version and I got to handle that one. Looking at them all now, I don't think any of them look bad at all, even the NF version. The look of the 88 version is a close second because of the slight camouflage element. |

V1 is an all time classic. That figure and his character in the comic was such a huge part of my childhood.

"Bad Guy" Storm Shadow was a terrifying, unrelenting force of evil. His eyes communicating the pain and expertise that only thirty generations of assassins could bestow upon you. An expert in just about every hand weapon of death you could fit on a file card. Incredibly complex and on a secret journey he can share with no one.
"Good Guy" Storm Shadow was dressed like an extra from Red Dawn and came with a claw. It was the first character I bought doubles of so I could have two claws. Go all the Wolverines! And obviously that's a lightsaber-like sword that can cut through anything. So, yeah, v2 but also because they, as the kids say, "shipped" my two favorites back together again. |

I picked 88 because Storm Shadow was my favorite but since I liked the joe team as a kid I always wanted him to be a good guy. Now it is the '84 version but as a figure it seems awkward. So Retaliation Ultimate Storm Shadow all day.

I'm surprised its so close! I for sure thought V1 would be slam dunk. It was one of those figures, like Firefly or Flint, who was so perfect first time, all later versions fell short.
V2 was a great figure, with awesome gear, but the red backpack and sword were a bit out of place. His gray 'camo' stripes also left me cold. They were not very intricate. |

I'm not voting, because v1 was perfect for Cobra, and v2 was perfect for G.I. Joe.
My third favorite look was probably the one from G.I. Joe vs Cobra, with the short sleeves and red mask. The figure was horrific, but it was a good design. |

The claw alone is enough for me to call v2 my favorite. But honestly, y'all are sleeping on how wicked cool Ninja Force SS was. A nearly perfect design held back by those '90s weapon trees and the spring-action-restricted articulation.

I never liked Ninja Force SS, just not a great sculpt but he looked cool in the Marvel comic. Loved the "Return to the Silent Castle" with Slice & Dice.

Very very cool v2 is loved as much as v1. Great seeing the community make such a decisive decision.
Ford I think you put it in perfect context. V1 is perfect as Cobra and v2 is perfect for GI Joe.
