Doubtlessly noticed by many of you, the o-ring body type is experiencing a resurgence in popularity. Multiple startup lines have come up within the past few years, the purpose of this thread is to list them all off with a small description.
Mods please move if placement is wrong. Readers please post ones I miss and I'll add them to the lead post. Operation: Recall - Spiritual continuation to the original GI Joe (82-94) line. The mind behind 3DJoes got Hasbro's old development team back together for this. Callsign: Longbow - If the original GI Joe had fewer military fantasy elements, and was embedded a little more soundly in military realism. Set during the 80's and strongly features the Cold War. Roboskull Skeletron/Wolf Trooper - Made by the same company as Longbow, this figure comes with a swapable head. Strike Force Alpha - Similar in a lot of aspects to end-of-the-run GI Joe. An elite team in the future fights cyborgs and aliens and mutants and such. Delta-17 - Not all of the story details have been released. Looks like a modern (and perhaps more grim?) take on GI Joe's original concept. So far 3 known factions, Delta-17, Retrograd (presumably Soviets in denial), and Dark Shadows. Retro R.I.O.T. Commando - Made by Zicca toys, this figure reimagines an short lived 80's Die Cast figure brand as the dominant figure format of the day, O-Ring. Legends of the Hidden Force - If Akira Kurosawa had a toy line. This is 100% ninjas, ronin, and samurai. This company has other ideas in the pipeline... In The Navy - Naval themed O-Ring line. Currently just a kickstarter. Could be good for filling up all those USS Flaggs that don't have a crew... And the much maligned, Easy Kill 9 - A sci-fi/horror line, featuring clandestine operators paid under the table to eradicate the undead. This one has a bit of controversy due to misunderstanding on behalf of multiple parties. IYKYK, DON'T turn this thread into a EK9 smear fest. If you don't know, HERE's a Hisstank thread about it. Read through those, THEN ask the creator for clarification. Hasbro is trying to 'How do you do fellow kids" their way back into the market. Here's their contributions. Sunbow Duke and Cobra Commander Stalker with Bumblebee (Transformers) as A.W.E. Striker Baroness with Megatron (Transformers) as H.I.S.S. Tank Cobra Trooper and Officer 2 Pack Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow (Sold Out) Stinger with Driver (Sold Out) Last edited by OldBreed; 06-16-2023 at 05:55 PM.. |

Circling back to add that some of these lines look cool. Thanks for coordinating a thread that collects them in one place. I also wouldn't object to horror characters in the mix of any action figure line.

This line looks incredible to me I absolutely love it. A must for any FLAGG for sure and my huge HMS Flagg will definitely need this. Does anyone know if he will ship to UK? At the moment the kickstarter says only selected countries but no list what they are
