Well, Here in Bowie, I have yet to meet another collector. I lived in VA as well and did not meet any either. So if anyone is in either MD or Va. Give me a shout.

Team,
Last week I was bored at work, so I decided to stop at Toys R Us during my lunch break (it's only 5 mins away from where I work). I was looking through the Joes at the front display and I know they also have Joes in the action figure aisles. When I got there, a dude was looking through the figs. He looked hip enough, so I said, "You collect?" He said he did and we got to talking. I asked if he was a member on the 'Tank and he said he was! He gave his name as Drunknmunky and said he posts in the customs forum. We chatted for 20 mins about army building, ROC the movie and other stuff. He was a pretty cool guy. It turns out we both were there for the Doctor figure. No luck on finding him though, but I did grab a Reactor Suit Ripcord and Accelerator Suit Duke, the first of this wave, I've seen! (Florida gets lousy distribution). Anyway, I just wanted to say that it was nice to meet a fellow hobbyist out in the real world. I hope to bump into a few more, so we can play with our Joes! truly, Jacklefttown

Ever since I joined the tank, only met 5 tankers. All other collectors I've met at stores would be scalpers.

Guys, an easy way to meet fellow tankers in your area is to make a list of everyone that posts in your areas sightings forum and send a PM (5 at a time) to everyone and see if they want to get together.
The guys from Michigan all met once and had a great time. So far, I've only met Conquest1 since I've lived here in Minnesota. My Father lives in FL, so it would be nice to bump in to some of you while down there visiting. |

Seems like there's a lot of active collectors on HT that live in Florida. I see you guys are in Clearwater. I'm in Tampa. I might just bump into you out there too. DD

FL Representing!!
I ran into a Tanker a couple weeks back at a completely random Wal-Mart but it was a buddy of mine from the Tank anyway so it was even better. I never usually run into any fellow Tankers unless it's someone i see all the time or if its at one of our occasional FL meets, if you haven't been to one you should definitely hit up the next one! Oh and C.I.A.D. give a shoot out if your ever down here man! |
