I understand what they were going for with Extreme and I believe it bricked for two reasons. 1) Extreme wasn't 3.75" o-ring A.R.A.H JOEs and anything that wasn't 3.75" o-ring JOEs was going to brick at the time. With the exception of Iron Klaw, back in the mid 90's if I would have saw Extreme at Toys 'R Us I would have been like, "Fuck is this shit?" 2) The lack of articulation. How is Hasbro going to have JOE line, but the figures lack the main thing G.I. JOE was known for since it's inception up until Extreme debuted and that is figures with many points of articulation.

A JOE with limited p.o.a. is like a Burberry trench coat without a Burberry check pattern under the collar.

I remember quite well seeing them at TRU in the mid-90s, and my reaction was indeed "Fuck is this shit?" And that included Iron Klaw.

LOL. Iron Klaw is the dopest figure in the line. His design is on fire and as Dave, (from Audible Interlude: A GI Joe Podcast,) often says about figures Iron Klaw is very "toyetic." Iron Klaw is how your "big bad," is supposed to look. If I were collecting at the time though I would have been pissed off and upset at the Extreme line, I would have picked up Iron Klaw.

Iron Klaw is the figure I most want to see in Classified. Given to what the team did with Major Bludd I would expect Iron Klaw to a great figure in the line. Also, the JOEs need another faction to fight and Iron Klaw and S.K.A.R. would provide that.

There was an Amazon web-comic that made the Iron Klaw a rank within the Crimson Guard, if I'm not mistaken.

this wasnt his best video. something about it didnt feel like it was complete.

he mentioned general hawk was in an episode or something and didnt show it, usually he shows stuff like that.

i was more into x-men at the time and these toys just had a weird low effort cheap feeling to them. i have the weird motorcycle thing in pieces - because at the time i was also just learning how to customize and i was really terrible at it; even worse for vehicles. if they had the same articulation as an xman and not 5 points, i'd probably have cared a little more.

i cant rationalize why i went so hard on potf2 star wars figures when they were preposed 4" 5 poa figures, but generally complain about "straight" 5 poa figures and preposed larger 5poa figures. i guess because that was the only way i was going to get star wars figures?

Most of us were in junior high, high school or had graduated around this time, so the line was doomed. Same goes for MOTU in outer space or Beast Wars. The next generation wanted their OWN stuff. It was the age of Power Rangers, X-Men, Pokemon, etc.

I think it's more about execution. Look at how Super Sentai has been going non-stop in Japan since the 70s.

I don't really remember this version of GI Joe that much (I was 18 or 19 at the time I think), but I do know a Classified Iron Klaw would kick major arse!
