I loved the PotF2 line when it hit in summer '95. I didn't care that they some figures were overly muscular (it may have bothered me a little, but it was also a sign of the times in the 1990s for action figures too), just the fact that we were getting brand-new SW figures for the first time in 10 years was so exciting to me. I was all-in and was going toy-hunting all the time tracking down every single figure and vehicle.
It was also great getting sculpts that were more detailed, paint decos that were more accurate and detailed and we were getting characters made into action figures that we never had as little kids in the 1980s. It's easy to shit on the line now nearly 30 years later, but at the time it was on fire in terms of how hot and popular it was. I'm glad I experienced that line back then and have a ton of great memories related to it. It also ushered in the modern era of SW figures. |

When I was a kid, I had no idea ARAH was a thing and thought Extreme was what all of G.I. Joe was like. That's why I didn't get into Joe until Resolute. Now that I'm looking back, Extreme feels so bland and undercooked. And despite what the intro would have you believe, the show was not that extreme.

Sorry for bringing this conversation back around to Star Wars again, but I was poking around in a local thrift store yesterday and they have a ton of carded POTF2 figures marked at $5 each. I'm not sure how far off that is from the current going rate, but a 20-something year old MOC figure for $5 seems like it's probably a good deal for someone who actually likes the things.
those were the ones i saw little of. droids i can understand. jawas, not so much. |

that's not so bad actually. i've been buying potf2 figures in baggies for backgrounds in dios im never going to do for 5 bucks and they may or may not be complete. if you can get droids and jawas for 5 bucks you're walking away with a great deal.
