Thereabouts for me, too. I lose interest when Damien is involved and that seems to be the direction. Sorta miss the days of Azrael, Oracle, and Cassandra Cain Batgirl.

I kinda feel bad for Cavill having quit The Witcher to be Superman, only to be told, "no thanks."[/QUOTE] Yeah. Cavill got crapped on. He's one of the few actors in the franchise that I liked, so that was disappointing. I can't see him acting out Gunn's gonzo humor though. Same with Gal Gadot (not that I think she's a good actress). |

I understood the use of Leto's Joker after watching the Snydercut and I liked it "more" than the theatrical cut. Someone either needed to have a clearer idea or less control. ZS clearly loves comics, but that doesn't always translate to live action. But, WB should've known that beforehand too. None of his films are light-hearted romps through sunflower fields.

Gadot's a terrible actress, but she's a good-looking Wonder Woman. I saw a fan mockup of Alexandra Daddario as Wonder Woman... she would be an awesome replacement.

At 37, she'd likely age out of a "cinematic universe" concept intended to span at least a decade with a character who's lived centuries. Loved her in Mayfair, and she has the "look," but she's too, I dunno, twitchy, to be a Wonder Woman. I'm hoping for someone who actually has the physicality for the role.

Cav's signed a deal to do a Warhammer 40k series. I don't think he's crying into his weetabix too much.

That had everything to do with playing Superman and Geralt, and nothing to do with anything financial. Hopefully the Warhammer 40k series has a better reception than the Warhammer film did.

I still hate Leto's Joker on a fundamental, "#NotMyJoker" level, but goddam if seeing Batman say "I will fucking kill you" over something he did to Harley, didn't make me wish we'd have the opportunity to see what led to that. I think a way to fix him would've been to have that Joker be a psychotic Jason, who killed the real Joker (played by Dafoe) over the "Death in the Family" events. As for Snyder's films proper, I think the extended cut translated rather well, actually, which has me thinking it's the studio interference that makes them questionable. His Watchmen was brilliant (despite the lack of a giant squid - which I've always felt was a silly reason for "fans" and Moore to hate the film).

I wasn't a fan of Man of Steel. Dug the casting, but the story was DBZ-levels of stupid with Superman only truly caring about humans outside of his inner circle, at the very end when he dispatches Zod. It goes to show how good both Snyder and Cavill were to actually make he care about that character after BvS, which went out of its way to fix the issues, solidifying the redemption arc in the climax and further with Justice League.

True. Now he can afford a decent bowl of Frosted Mini-Wheats. |

agreed. i recommend an abandoned oil rig in the middle of an ocean some where. they can drop some food off and clean sheets every couple of months. he sucks. all of his characters look the same. he has no writing talent of his own. wildstorm is the only reason why he's even involved with dc, because dc bought it - and wildstorm wasnt even good enough to be an image imprint. just overall no value in him being the one to make any decisions for dc comics. new 52 is entirely his failure, and his failure brought in the same failures that were behind marvel's failures. bob harras, that button fly jean'd turd that cant draw feet, etc.

They were trying to capitalize off of the success of Marvel's "Heroes Reborn" and Ultimates concepts, looking to create relatable books that didn't have 300+ back issues of history. The idea is understandable, but never works within the same medium as it always results in losing more eyes than gained.

It's 100% on his shoulders. Though an argument can be made for ditching the underwear look that's so ingrained on us that we thing they're wrong without it. lol

Nah, he should've been left alone to continue to turn out fantastic art from stories written by others.
same. when the flash and booster gold each came out of flashpoint in theri books and forgot it even happened - them being central time and multiuniverseral travelling figures in a time travelling multiuniverseral story, said enough about how thorough they planned it all. then it was sensationalizing bullshit after. for months they hyped the central new character of dc comics. her big reveal? "she is pandora." that's it. weeks of "CHECK OUT OUR NEW AWESOME AT EVERYHTING CHARACTER! THEY'RE A MYSTERY!" "HOLY SHIT THEY'RE THE BEST EVER OF ALL TIME CHECK THEM OUT, WE'LL REVEAL EVERYTHING SOON!" "she is pandora." and then not even a full two weeks later they fucking shot her one time and she died. so dc had tried twice? since new 52 to hard reset even that bullshit, but each time they still eeked out a little bit of new 52 each time. i stopped caring after doomsday clock - which being a fan of watchmen and the promise of dr.manhattan fixing dc comics - i was finally relieved that it'd be done for good. nope. strung along again. so now i just dont read dc anymore and i dont even keep up. didio getting let go, however that was was already a good move. jim lee has to be next because it's his stupid decisions that got dc where it's at today. Yeah, that was what made Leto worthwhile. And, I think he was a Robin too. The "Hahaha, joke's on you" seemed too on-the-nose even for a movie. Dafoe would be fun as the Joker. Eddie Izzard or Rhys Ifans would have fun too, I think.

yep. his fascination with superman's underwear is what started all of this. here's the thing, he's right. except he's wrong about what to be right about. dc comics is worth a shit when superman has his trunks. take them off? total garbage. check out the electric suit period. oh my god dc was terrible then.
