Do you still play with toys? Are you just a collector
For display? Let me know in the comments below I just collect and some time make a scene like Display. |

"I didn't see you playing with your dolls again!" I set mine up is display scenarios... I don't play with them like I did as a kid... Maybe when I'm older and senile, I'll play with them again. Last edited by CNR1993; 05-17-2023 at 12:34 AM.. |

I don't play, I just collect for display. I'll usually open figures/vehicles except for collector themed items like 25th or retro

As a kid I played a lot with them. Adult collector in me mostly display and set up scenes or make customs. Now that I have little ones I’m playing again because I’m playing with them. It’s fun. Yesterday my 2 1/2 year old had her Polly pocket helicopter and I was chaser it with my retro fang. I was firing miSsles and all hahahahaha.

I take photos of them in various poses when I first get them and then I set them up for display in neutral stances. Not enough space, at the moment, to put them all on display in action poses.

I keep mine in a DETOLF display, but will usually get one or two out at a time and pose, change out accessories, and admire them while I watch TV or YOUTUBE vids...and sometimes they don't make it back into the case for a day or so, which leaves them standing around the house, which my wife "LOVES" (not really)

You guys gotta get some grandkids, I’m telling you what, they’re the best thing since sliced bread. This past weekend myself and my 4, 6 and 7 year old grandsons and granddaughter had an all out war with not just 4 inch action figures but with some miscellaneous toy soldiers. Some pieces are missing and some broke but that’s the price of happiness.

I'd say I am mostly a collector although I do have some plans to get some dios setup in the future - been kicking around the idea of getting a G Scale train and some G scale houses to set up battles/dios with. I've given some of my collection to my son for him to enjoy - I get a kick out of watching him and having him ask questions about my collection and when I was a kid. With the unknown future of new o-ring product I've gotten back to building my ARHAH collection. I feel this is my last hurrah in terms of re-tooling my vintage collection. I've gone from the beginning to the end of o-ring so many times that I want to clean and tighten it up - get rid of the things I like but don't love, acquire (or reacquire) the final figs/vehicles I want.
Not to say I won't back any future kickstarters or potentially purchase any new hasbro o-rings but as for the vintage era stuff I see the finish line on the horizon. |
